LOL I knew I would be the only one here :) Hopefully someone will join soon. Thanks Kathy for creating the groups! Susan
My Son is in DIV022! You aren't the only one now! Daria
YAY Daria! I am sooo glad :) When did your son leave? My son D left last Monday 10/25. I got a phone call from him yesterday to get information for his clearance. I also received my form letter yesterday. Hopefully more mom's/wives/gf's will join us soon :) Susan
Hi Susan, my son left on the 25th from Southern California. I received my form letter on the 30th and the "box" on the 29th. I cannot wait to hear from him, no phone calls yet since the night he arrived.
I think this has been the toughest week of my life! What A school is your son going to and what rate is he? D is going to Pensacola then to C school and his rate is IT.

Wow Southern CA, he is going to be in for a shock with the weather! We are in NC, but spent 8 years in FL. D prefers warmer weather so I know the next several weeks will be rough!

Are you going to PIR?

Susan
Hi Susan,

Yes, T will be in for a shock with the cold weather! His A school is there in Great Lakes so he will will get to experience the full winter. I am still learning all the lingo so you will have to excuse my lack of knowledge, but, he is an AECF and will either be an ET or FC, if I have it right. When he left he did not know which one he would be.

This has been the hardest week of my life. It feels like he has been gone for so long. Knowing the graduation date helped but I am still an emotional wreck!

Yes, we are going to PIR, are you? We are in the process of making travel arrangements now. It is so great to hear from someone else going through the same thing. Is your son your oldest child? T is my oldest and no one tells you hard it is going to be for your child to leave home. I miss him.

Daria
Daria - Yes I will be at PIR. A bunch of us have made reservations at the Residence Inn and we are all buying pink scarves from Old Navy so we can recognize each other. The link to it is on the PIR 12/17/10 page if you are interested. Yes D is my oldest. I also have 2 girls, one is 17 and one is almost 11. He went to college last year on a football scholarship but came home after the first semester. It wasn't the same as this. We went to all his games so I saw him every week and we texted and talked all the time. This has been much more difficult.

Susan
Daria my son CJ is also in 022. He is the youngest and all mine are gone now. It is hard for sure. Cj will do school in Gl and we are use to the winters. Have your son look for a tall northern boy for tips on the weather and to stay warm. We are from South Dakota where the wind blows like crazy and 80 below is a good day to warm up with the fire. Take care!
Susan,

Great, I already booked us at Residence Inn. That is a great idea about the pink scarf, I will have to order it! We are flying in on the 15th of December. I have two other children, 15 and 13. I wonder if our sons have talked to each other! Or if their bunks are near each other!
That's so awesome! We are talking about those of us that are members of this group having a mini meet-and-greet at the hotel :) I will get there early on the 16th. We are driving and will go half-way to Cincinnati on the 15th and will spend the night with my father-in-law. I will send you a friend request and then we can private message each other our last names. I will write D and ask him if he knows your son. This is exciting isn't it :)
My boyfriend is in Div. 022. ^_^
Welcome waving girl!! That's so exciting! I am loving meeting new people whoes loved ones could know my son :) How are you handling everything? Have you guys been together long? Susan
