I have been asked to coordinate & help plan a Meet & Greet for families of 12/3/10 PIR sailors. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. I will be emailing my nephew who is a naval reserve officer for possible locations close to the base that we could meet at the evening before graduation. Hope to see all of you there:)

hey dodie...it may be easiest to keep it at Ramada....since they already do one?? It sounds like many here would maybe prefer that as well? I'm up for whatever, just keep me informed!!! Yay!!! 5 weeks from today!!!!! It's a coming ladies!!
will certainly be following this...hope to be there in time for the M&G..me & my husband will be coming up with my daughters grandparents (who were Navy) so this sounds like lots of fun.
Would love to do a M&G if we can get there in time. We are at the Marriott in Waukegan.
We have our rooms booked at the Ramada because we saw where they have a meet & greet Thursday evening. If I can help in any way, let me know!
Dodie, thank you so much for putting this together. Unfortunately it looks like we won't arrive to the Great Lakes in time to attend the Meet and Greet. :( Major bummer. We won't be able to hit the road until after work on Thursday and thus won't arrive until around 11 P.M. Are there any other Meet and Greet activities, perhaps in the morning during breakfast? Thanks again!
I haven't seen anyhting the morning of PIR probably because most people prefer to get to Great Lakes early for graduation day...
Even if there's not an official "meet and greet" on Friday morning, won't we all be in the same area that morning? Aren't there signs showing where our sailor's division is? We'll all be there anyway, and it sounds like we'll have plenty of time to "mingle" and meet anybody who might not have made it the night before.
Definitely be able to mingle before the ceremony. I'm planning on being there early when the gates open. I think we're going to drive instead of shuttle.
Family arriving 12-2 from DC, staying at the Courtyard..Would love to attend and help with any and all arrangements.
Hi Dodie,
I think I've confused myself......(easy to do)
Is the meet and greet going to be at the Ramada Inn or somewhere else.
I would offer assistance but we will not be arriving until about 530 pm on the 2nd.
Thanks for taking this task on!!!!
I appreciate YOU!!!
Hello! I am looking to book at the Ramada in Waukegan, IL due to the night before PIR meet & greet they offer. Does anyone know if staying at the Ramada is worth it? I've seen better prices online & trying to save anyway I can, every lil bit adds up! I'm just wondering if staying at the Ramada Inn is a bunch of hype or worth it. I'm just looking for an honest answer! Thanks!
Navywife'E, several people have reserved rooms at the Navy Lodge for around $65/night. I'm not vary familiar with the Ramada's accommodations other than what I've seen online. You might want to post a question on the bootcamp group & see what veteran moms have to say.
