Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

I too have seen that 952 is going this Sunday for BS21. I think it's weird that all stories are different in reference to the gas chamber. It's better to find some humor in it than worry. Although, it would be nice to know!
The letter I got from Drew dated 10/25 said hell week was last week meaning the week of 10/18 and that they got photos taken then, too. He said the reason we are probably mixed up is that we get letters that are 2 weeks old sometimes. He didn't get my letter from the 19th until the 25th. He apologized that they weren't getting to write or call more. He also said not to worry because he hasn't thrown up yet and doesn't plan to. And unless there's a miracle he won't be allowed to call until the 10th.
so from Drew's letter, I will take it that BS21 is on the 9th. That would be Tuesday. Cause don't they get to call us the day after BS21? All I know is that I am hoping and praying that my SR uses the anger from his girlfriend breaking up with him to his advantage and not his disadvantage. I would like to strangle that girl myself.
I am so sorry to hear that Terri. She broke up with him during BC? I can't believe that and I hope your son can continue with BC and BS21 without it affecting him so much. Our recruits need all the love and support they can get! I keep Div 952 in my prayers every night.
She broke up with him while he is at BOOT CAMP?? I am so sorry and bummed for him. We all know that he's better off anyone who does that, but it sure doesn't make it easier on him. I'd like to strangle her too and I dont' even know her.
Nick said he was his anger towards her and putting it towards passing his final PFA. I know my boy. when he gets pissed he can move mountains. I just hope it is enough for him. Thank you all for your kind words and support. You have all been wonderful these past few weeks.
We got a letter today. He wrote it on his birthday ( the 31st) and said he was a little depressed. WHA. But he said the Gas chamber was on Monday too and he'd probably get to call on the 10th. So, I was thinking that meant battle stations was on the 9th. He also said that it's getting chilly in the mornings and that the guy in his row ( or something) is from California and is freezing. It was so nice to get a letter. I'm not keeping track or anything but his g/f has gotten two more than us. (Ok- I am keeping track, but I'm trying not to! LOL)
I got a letter from my husband today. He says that the Petty Officer in charge gave the honor guard a compliment saying that they did a good job on intervals when marching out into the floor of the drill hall (where graduation will take place). But that they still needed to work on being synchronized on all their rifle movements. I'm pretty sure they will all do great on 11/12.

He also says that it is getting cold and that they started their first "damage control" class on Oct 28th. He didn't mention when BS21 would take place or anything about the gas chamber. I'm glad others have heard when those activities will take place.
zig-just had to say hello from another Iowa family with a SR in a different Div. but same PIR date.
Seems we all get the same info but at different intervals. BS for us is today so that should be interesting.
Next Thursday is coming fast and the weather is changing too. It's typical for us, but lousy for Southerners. : )
Hope you hear from your recruit tomorrow since you say that BS is for them tonight!

My husband told me to bring warm clothes since it might be cold on 11/12 weekend. But I'm not worried cause I live in Utah and it already has snowed here. :(
My step kids live in Vernal, Utah. It is SO pretty there. Do you live anywhere near it?
Hi Nola! What part of Iowa? I wonder if our kids left from Des Moines on the same day? Mine left September 13th. We've been lucky with this fall haven't we? Are you driving to GL on Thursday? We're staying at the Homewood Suites, but plan on going to the Meet and Greet at the Ramada. I can't wait!
