Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

On another note, got a letter this morning. Re: the short call we all recd. he says the schedule got messed up and Master Chief screamed at Petty Officer to get them out so Petty Officer yelled at them.
He said the gas chamber drill was awful and now he knows how the people in the movies feel when they get tear gas thrown at them. They had 160 people in the little room, 16 at a time took off their masks and had to recite name, rank and div. before they could leave. The petty officer had more stuff to put on the burner so it got worse and he said not a single one could finish their statement.
365 already got their orders on destination after bootcamp but 366 won't get theirs till the 10th. The petty officers were saying most of them would be GNG but not really, they like to mess with them a lot they even started a rumor that they were going to move things up a day so they would graduate a week early. NOT !!!
He says they are starting to feel like family and it's going much better.
Hope you all can add to this so we can keep up. !
You ladies are a wealth of information. I am so glad that I got on this site during this difficult time. It really helped with some of the stress of not knowing. My daughter wrote to me today and said that after the BS21 they get to call on Friday and maybe talk an hour if they want. She was so hoping! Of course she can't wait to see us! I am so proud of all of them.
Thank you again for all of the information that you have given me to get through this.
That is what my son's letter said to his girlfriend....i am sitting on the back burner but that is ok with me, i know he wants to talk to her but she has been very sweet in keeping me informed when she gets a call or letter. She is coming to graduation and I know both of them will be really glad to see one another. I will probably get a hug and see ya....but that is ok. I am very proud of all them. Anyone else staying at the Courtyard 5 miles away?
The Keel is like the Division Year Book. From what I understand they on do one print run so if you don't order it now, you won't get one....And you're right, I won't be alone in spirit! Just alone with my wine! :-)
How in the world are we suppose to know all this information? I had gone to the bootcamp.navy.mil website early on but that was it. Well, I can't worry about it and if the recruits were given a chance to get one, hopefully they did.
The guy at the lab told me you could order the keel at PIR enless i understood him wrong...but i order the DIV 11x14 photo...will be picked up Mon by C, and i also ordered the PIR dvd, and the keel 30 each that will be shipped to our home here. He said C will have to pay for it all when he picks it up...w/NEX giftcard or his Debit card
Who did u call to find this out and what is the number?
Ok if they didn't order can we order one? If so how?
847-578-6180 this is the main number to NEX...just ask them to transfer you to the photo lab IF they havent sent the stuff off yet the could tell you what your son ordered...or you could just get info they have...good luck
Good Morning everyone ☼ how are your candles burning?
BRIGHTLY!!! :-)
We have three a burning
