my son leaves Nov. 2, one week from now....
Hi becki, thanks for joining the group. We are all getting real close to BC. 22 days and counting for me. My son is off to Chicago on Nov 16.
My son leaves for Chicago on Nov. 16th. I'm very new to N4M. It's only my second day here. I'm finding so much information here! I've enjoyed reading about BC, what to bring/not bring, and how their pay/clothing allowance works. All things I've wondered about. I'm still overwhelmed, but glad his recruiter told me about this site! I hope all our kids do well during BC.
Nascarnov, my son leaves on the 16th as well.Maybe they might be together. Where is he traveling from and what will his rate be?
Hi Catherine F. He leaves out of Minneapolis. We're from SW Wisconsin. What do you mean by "his rate?" He will be an OS (operation specialist) if that's what you mean. Don't know all the Navy jargon yet! Thanks for replying to me!
My son left November 2. Did you get a phone call from your son.
My son leaves Nov 23rd...
Getting last minute things ready for my son to leave. He checks into the hotel Sunday evening and then heads out Monday for Chicago. He checks in at 5 p.m. and we get to visit with him until his curfew at 10:30 p.m. Then we get to see him officially swear in the next morning at 10:00 a.m. and visit with him a couple of hours at MEPS before he heads to the airport. He's very excited to be going. I'm still suffering from last child to leave the nest...but can't be sad because he's wanted to do this ever since he was little.
