In A's form letter home, he wrote "boot camp is kinda like high school, only angrier".
This is like HELL, If not jail and I do not want to ever go to either. Love you MOM
Dana, Well, at least you know, he won't be considering a life of crime. lol
Oh wow Dana. At least you know how he/she feels :)
so true he has always been a good kid
D said that he was "having fun but tired." Really? Having fun in BC?? Hmm seems suspicious to me. My husband said it sounds like he is at summer camp :)
Hi guys, in my form letter he started to write something and then you could tell he had to erase it, so he wrote over it, after we looked at it we could tell that he had written "the food sucks",,, so I guess that would be similar to summer camp :)
did you all receive your form letter in the box with clothes? Someone in N's family received the box apparently but has not opened it yet. I"m anxiously waiting, I wish he had sent it to me but that's okay (:
Kori - no, the form letter was seperate; in a normal size white envelope. Lori
Kori, my son's box went to his dad, as did the form letter. However, according to my ex, the note T wrote on it said "Mom or Dad, I don't know which of you is getting this ..." tells me that it's the Navy that decided insofar as they just send it to the address of record, which is wherever your kid was living when he joined the Navy.
"Hi Mom, Drew, Ashley, Grandma, Grandpa. Just wanted to say I love you and that I'm doing good. Have a huge headache but feelin good. Please send pictures, but no food - it won't make it to my mouth. Can't wait to see you guys. Love you."

Kind of an opposite "headache" and "feelin good"

AND then he wrote a sweet P.S. message to Ash and within that he says

"Wish you were here Ash, but trust me you would hate it. I want you to be at graduation and was tempted to leave out Drew. Ha Ha."

Drew is Adam's brother who made the list for graduation but A was obviously torn as to whether to throw his bro under the bus for his bestest girl. Drew actually has volunteered to let Ash go in his place but not sure we can do that because Adam has turned in his list of guests. Ash was wondering what he meant about her hating it - I'm thinking because of the yelling, strict discipline, no makeup, no long hair. IF you look at my pictures on my profile, Ash is beautiful and she would have to lose the hair and the makeup as well as the cute outfits.
Others can still go to PIR without a ticket. They just have to wait to be seated after the start. With a smaller number of divisions at our PIR, there should be more seats available. I haven't heard anything from my daughter and don't expect to. We have a somewhat prickly relationship, and if she writes anyone it will be her husband. Talk about a generation gap; when I spoke to him yesterday, he asked me how much a stamp cost! I sent my husband over this morning with a book of stamps and some address labels I had printed off. Our children only communicate electronically. I've been sending daily letters to my mother (nursing home) and other daughter (college) for 6 and 4 years so 8 weeks at BC is nothing.
