Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

Ziggy - I finally found you again to respond. I don't normally check this site so.....your response kinda got lost. Can't believe your son had to leave from the DSM airport. I guess there wasn't anything closer? Seems it would have been closer for you to drive him to GL. My son left on the 15th and he left with 3 other girls. 1 girl came home from GL one week later, just couldn't handle it.
Yes, the weather is great. Got up to 70 today but I think that might be it. We are in Pella and will probably be leaving sometime between 2 and 3. Friends told us not to leave till then to hopefully avoid the Chicago traffic. We will be getting in too late for the M & G but I know of a couple families staying where we are. We are planning to maybe have supper in Bettendorf on our way. Figure that's a good place to stop. You should have fun at the Ramada, sounds like fun.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this info. (I've heard so many different things about when the gas chamber would take place.)

My husband also told me that he has lost a lot of weight and that I won't be able to recognize him cause he has a thinner face.

Can you share what questionnaires you're talking about? Thanks!
I am glad some of your sons and husbands give u information!! Mine keeps me in the dark. Maybe he tells his GF. I think it stinks about the girl breaking up during BC... He is better off with out her. She would not have made a good Navy GF for the long haul.... I looked at the pics on FB and keep wishing I seen my son but it is too hard to tell..... But I just am glad to get to see what they look like and what they do. I think Sunday is our day for BS, I am going to just think that and go with it. If u all find out better please let us know.... Keep the blue lights going!!!!
I didn't get a letter yestday. I think I got spoiled last week I got one every day except Friday! It seems their BS date is a moving target. Some have heard that it is definately Sunday night, while others have heard they can call on Wednesday making it seem as if they would be doing it Tuesday night. I wish I knew better, but I'm going to start with thinking it is Sunday and if we don't hear from our guys on Monday then move it it Tuesday. It's the best I can do ladies, sorry....

Liz & Josteph - thanks for sharing that our guys are getting along so well! It's nice to know they have formed a bond, some of which will probably last a lifetime!
WOW!!! I can't believe we only have 7 days left until we get to see our SR's. I just wanted to tell you ladies that I am so happy to have found this site even late in the game. You have been so wonderful sharing your letters with us all. I don't think I would have been very plesant to be around these past couple of weeks had it not been for you. Thank you so much all of you.
Ditto, Terri! I feel the same way. I'm glad I found this wonderful support group being so close to graduation.

Diana, I am sure our guys have formed lasting friendships too! I am so thrilled about graduation--this coming weekend will be our last before we spend it with our Sailors!!
I have posted twice and lost it! :(

I got a letter yesterday from Brandon. He also said gas chamber was Nov 1st (he wrote on Oct 31) He said getting ready for test 3 and hoping he psssed tro graduate on time, but said he wasnt too worried.

He thought it was neat we are all talking and asked last names, that is ll they know. But all we know is first names! lol

I may not be able to stay the whole time. :( Breaks my heart, but may not work out. And my son cant take off work that long.

Getting closer!!! I cant wait!
I too received another letter from my husband today (dated Oct 31st). He said that Gas Chamber was Monday Nov 1st, Wednesday Nov 3rd is their last PFA, and Friday Nov 5th is their last written test (taken on a computer). He then said that after Captain's Cup on Saturday, all that would be left is Battle Stations and Graduation.

I can't wait for 11/12, so excited!!!
I cant' wait either!! Did anyone see any of thier peeps from yesterday's graduation? I didn't, but kept hoping that somebody would see somebody! Ha. My son said that he might be able to call on the 10th- are we sure BS is on Sunday? I'll have my candle ready both days! HA.
I had a friend at yesterday's PIR who took a picture of our division. I've asked her to email it to me when she has time....obviously not a priority as she spends time with her freshly graduated sailor. I will share it when I get it.
Hi all! I was just peeking at what some of the other divisions were chatting about and one had a really good idea. They are lighting their blue candles at 7 pm GL time the night their SR's start BS21. I think we should do the same. What do you all think?
That sounds great :) I plan on lighting a blue candle. This Sunday Nov 7th, right?
