For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

9Our granddaughter was Grad N Go also, her PIR was Aug 8th. After the graduation she had to be checked out(this took about 1 1/2 hours), THEN WE HAD HER TILL SHE HAD TO check back in for the overnight. We went to the motel to get a couple of hours sleep, then went to the airport, where we were able to spend several more hours with her. I think she left about 2am for her flight to Ms. to her A School. So though we didn't have the weekend with her, we did have about 11 hours total with her and it was well worth it! Had she had her A School at Great Lakes we would have been able to spend the weekend with her, but the Grad N Go ship out in the wee morning hours. I think her plane left about 3 am. Hope this helps..

We also had 11 of us going to the graduation. Yes, they get tickets for 4, and those 4 get the better seating, but there is ample seating since many of the grads don't have family coming. We also adopted for the day another sailor who was Grad N Go, who had no one, and it really didn't take time away from our sailor.

Anyone know what the schedule for a recruit going to Corpsman school (in the Great Lakes) after PIR? Will he have over night liberty? Or will he have to be back at a certain time like a curfew? Also, will he move into his A school RIGHT after PIR?

It's been 5 months now since our recruit graduated, and we only got some hours to see her, since she was flying out in the middle of the night. But if I remember right, those having their training at Great Lakes get the whole weekend with their family. I think they have to be back at a certain time each night, then is free first thing in the morning again. I may be wrong about this( coming off liberty for the night) but others may give you the correct answer. He will move to his A school right away, tho it may be a short time till the school starts. They have to have enough to fill a class and it may be a week or two before this happens. Our granddaughter will just graduate from her A school in Ms. next week. Her PIR was Oct. 8th.

Don't plan on him being able to stay in the hotel with you. That way you will be pleasantly surprised if he gets to and not disapointed if he cannot. If he is Grad N Go and checks in right away across the street at A School, then he will find out what is weekend Liberty is. Some get overnight privileges and some have an 8 or 9:00 curfew. If he stays at the RTC over the weekend, he will have to be back each night and you can pick him up in the morning if he doesn't have to stand a watch.
