Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The "Lincoln Family Love" Pillowcase Project

Dear Ladies,
Thank you for your support and we apologize that some of you are upset about the turn of events with the Lincoln Pillowcase Project. ALFA is committed to supporting you in your efforts to make this project go. We would like to make you aware of the “behind the scenes” actions that will hopefully boast moral and get us back on track to make sure that the sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln know how much we appreciate and support them. First off, we would like to address the issue of Mrs. Stephanie Wilcox, the former project coordinator. It was brought to our attention that Mrs. Wilcox had not obtained approval from the CMC or CO of the Lincoln. We are aware that she obtained approval from the Strike Group 9 Legal Department but approval needed to be obtained from the CMC or CO of the Lincoln as well. After lengthy conversations with Mrs. Wilcox to obtain the information ALFA needed in order to take this project to the Lincoln for approval, she told two of our Board Members that she was quitting the project because it was too stressful. Finding a new coordinator was a logical first step for us as we did not want this project to go to the way side and reality is that command approval would not have been granted to Mrs. Wilcox. Command approval was granted to Heads at Ease as they are an established group with credibility behind them. Heads at Ease has done this project for many other service members that are serving our country. Yes, you could have sent the pillowcases you made out to your individual sailors or even to their friends but without command approval or support there was no way that all sailors would have received a pillowcase, which is the goal that we are working towards. Second, is the issue of the project name change. The name of the project was changed because not all of the pillowcases will be done in time to make it to the ship for Christmas and as an added bonus, we do not offend those service members who are not of the Christian Faith. Anyone need any Dallas Cowboy material? I'm going to pick some up tomorrow and do a couple pillowcases with that fabric. Has to be some Dallas fans somewhere aboard ship!

Do you need me to send you the fabric. I have it here in DC. I can try and get them done for you and send finished, but to tell you the truth the way things are going here right now it may be best for me just to send you the material. I hate saying that, but things are not good here right now. let me know cause I can send in the mail asap! I'll need your address, you prob. have sent it to me before, but its just way too much work for me even to search for it right now. Thanks

I did a live interview today about Heads at Ease and the Lincoln Family pc project. Plus, a local quilting store is having the great pillowcase challenge on 11-27. My Curves is sponsoring a team. the store's goal is to make 400 pcs that day! awesome. I took in a huge bag of fabric for them to use for it.

Ladies, we need a final firm count of the number of pcs that you are mailing directly to the ship. I see that some have decided to mail to SAW instead of direct. Which is fine.
Please give ME a final count by Sunday night. Once we get that,. I will email you with specific shipping instructions thru a personal email.
Very exciting. I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I guess I better get my special request pcs made now. haha -
