WAY TO GO towsilvatwins...you should beVery proud! Now this gives me some info to pass to my son, to see if he knows yours :)!!!!

Have a great day!!
I did get a letter yesterday. My SR sounds like he is doing o.k. and holding his own. But it does sound like its been pretty tough. He said he didn't get to go to sleep until 8:00 P on the 28th; he arrived on the 26th at 4:30 P and had been awake for 12 hours already when he arrived and hadn't slept well the night before. What a beginning. He said the weeks are going by pretty fast, although slowing down a bit. He is a section leader, 1 of 6 over 73 SR's - they had 78 but 5 have left? He had his first inspection yesterday; was nervous about it - "just so strict on everything you have to do - one screw up and I fail it". They have a test on Friday - asked me to keep my fingers crossed - so much to learn. He got a 45 minute shower on Sunday - shower time is usually only 3 minutes. Night time is his favorite part of BC - he gets some peace - and he is sleeping like a baby. Their DIV is still having some challenges with behavior, but it sounds like some of the SR leaders are no longer going to be so nice because when one SR doesn't follow orders, everyone suffers, including them. Infractions are as simple as talking at "chow" - the SR's were told no talking and someone talked - added on intense training for everyone. He said what he "REALLY REALLY misses most is family and Ash." Loved the letters and it was so good to have news from home. Some strong statements but I do think he is doing good. He also returned a form letter I sent him so that worked well.
Hey Lori - so gald you received a letter from A... Congrats - nothing here yet..
Thanks for the update on the Division - I hope they can pull it together soon
HI LoLo...my SR said pretty much the same thing! I do hope they can all pull it together.

Thanks for your update!
Cindy - so you got a ltr.; great! They will pull it together! I expect our next ltr., or the following will tell us the DIV is doing well! L
HI LOLO! Yep, I posted about my letter on some other link...thought it would show up here, and didn't want to post it 2X's :)! "E" Said he was made the Roving Night Watchman because of his good hand writing (His RDC Said "He had the best hand writing in his division)!...Does anyone know what that is?? He said He HATES IT more than anything! HE is also the Laundry PO, ( I mentioned that in a earlier post). He also stated "he didn't know how often he would be able to write because he should use the time to study and iron and get things in order" :)...YES...he is changing :)!!!! And "He is counting the days to get the H*ll out of Boot Camp!"

Cindy
Lori,
Thanks so much for sharing your letter with us. I could not wait to get home from work to read what your son had written to you - - I love hearing anything about their division and how they are all doing. And since your son returned one of the form letters, I decided to send my son one. I am hoping that everyone got to have a long shower on Sunday (I can't believe 45 mins). If so, I am sure my son really appreciated that.
I was so disappointed when I remembered that there was no mail yesterday!!! I am going to be stalking the mailman today :) I hope I get a letter from my son or at least I hope his girlfriend gets one (isn't that very kind of me). Do y'all think it's too soon to make reservations for the hotel for PIR? I know I have seen that some people on here have done that already. I just don't even know who is definitely going with us and I don't know exactly what my son's plans are yet for after PIR. So I don't know if we need a hotel for just one night or for the whole weekend. I figure by the end of next week I'll make them. Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday. I can't believe it's the end of week 3!!!!!! 34 days left - - of course, that's a reminder of the Christmas shopping I have to get done!
Hey Stewfam! I'm glad hearing what A wrote is helpful; I've felt the same when I read about a phone conversation or a ltr. I hope you get one today! Be kind to your mailperson :-) I have already made my reservations and no, I don't think it is too early. You can always cancel them up to 24 hours advance notice (at most if not all). I know my SR wants to leave for home on the 17th (we're driving); but I've kept my reservations in place until I talk to him next just to make sure (meaning I have reservations at our hotel Thurs. - Sun. We are at the Residence Inn in a 2 bedroom suite (we have 5 people) for $129.00/night (AAA discount was better thant he military). Hoping we are only there 1 night; will save some $$ as we are renting a Tahoe to drive to GL which is $120.00/day. So look at your PIR packet hotel information and get your reservations made - you can always change them :-)
