For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The Blue Candle Tradition
The lighting of a blue candle is a tradition stemming from several different stories. The candle is lit for sailors separated from their families during the holidays, for sailors in danger far away, or to light a sailor’s way home. It’s also popularly used as a way to mark the time recruits complete the most arduous part of their training–in a sense, to bring them “home” to complete boot camp and become sailors.
As we prepare to support our SR's during Battlestations as well as reuniting with them at PIR, I thought I'd share with you a really neat alternative to a blue candle - its made by Sentsy - copy the address below to your browser or select the direct link. When the Sentsy page appears, go to "buy" and scroll down to the bottom of screen and type "Navy" into the search window. This Navy warmer is electronic and decorated w/the Navy Seal. I've ordered the "blue linen" scent to warm in it; I like the idea vs. a candle due to the carbon the candle puts off.

There was a little holiday boutique going on at work today and there was a Sentsy booth. I bought the Navy warmer and a couple of scents. Probably won't have it for Thanksgiving though.

Wendi - that's great! Betsy ordered hers on line so she already received it; I ordered mine from a book party so I won't have mine until early December - it will certainly be here in time for BS21! Let me know how you like it - what scents did you order. I ordered clean linen - smells like Downy!

Our agency has been selling these as a fund raiser and I bought the Navy warmer and two sents as well. I got thunder storm and one other I can't remember.
