Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In our chat last night we decided we should have a discussion for us to post our children's favorite recipies for the holidays! Here are a couple of mine! Enjoy....

 

 

Oreo Cookie BonBons

 

1 Pkg of Oreo Cookies

1 8 oz Of Cream Cheese (Soften)

1 lb of White Almond Bark or any candy coating

 

Crush Oreo cookies and mix with the cream cheese refrigerate until workable for about 1 hour. Roll into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls. Refrigerate again till harden up.

 

Melt Almond Bark in Microwave on 50 seconds, stir, melt again for 50 seconds,continue until thin for dipping balls.

 

Coat balls in Candy topping place on wax paper to dry. May decorate while wet with colored sugar.

 

 

Pepermint Cream Sandwich cookies:

 

2 cups of flour

1 cup butter (soften)

1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

 

Mix flour, butter, and whipping cream. - Refigerate for about an hour. Heat oven to 375. Roll on third of dough out and cut into small shapes 1 1/2 - 2 inch cookie cutters. (I prefer bells and trees)  Generously cover a large piece of wax paper with Colored suger. Coat one side of cookie with colored sugar. Prick cut outs with a fork and bake in oven for 7 - 9 minutes until set but not brown. Cool for 30 minutes.

 

Spread Peppermint cream filling between cookies.

 

Peppermint Cream -

3/4 cup powedered sugar

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp of peppermint extract.

Mix until smooth. May add a few drops of water if necessary or may color with food coloring.

 

These melt in your mouth!!
