For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I'm not sure if you guys have already bought your sailors their Christmas gifts, but I posted this on another website, and this might be something you might want to get them as a stocking stuffer.... It's a CAC card reader (Smart Card). You might what to read about it, and see if this is something you might want to buy them...

My son is always asking for line gloves - aparently he goes through them quickly. So that's one of the things he's getting. It's not really a "fun" gift, but he uses them a lot and it helps protect his hands. What can I say - I'm a very practical Mom.

Thumb drives are what some people call USB drives. They have nothing to do with the card reader, which actually provides safety to the Government. You remember the old 3.5 inch floppy disks that you could store your data on? Well the thumb drives are about 1/8 the size and can equal about 800 of those floppy disks in storage capability.
With the Wiki-leak stuff. You are talking about an Army guy that stoled secrets from the U.S. Military, and gave them away for free. You cannot stop people like this. If they have a purpose to steal military classified information, then they will still find a way. btw: Since we are in a time of war, this kid could be subjected to the death penality. However, we all know, that would never happen. My bet is he will be getting life, which he should....

For fun-shaped flashdrives, look on thinkgeek.com. According to my nuke nephew, anything from that site is "golden". I'm pretty geeky myself and love it. They can ship most items to FPO/APO addresses. I'm guessing not the bacon flavored stuff to the sandbox though.

My daughter LOVES movies, and know that movies are a big thing to the sailors..is it possible to get movies downloaded on one of those thumb drives? ..This would be perfect to send thru the mail to her on the ship, and doesnt take up a lot of room in her birth either. Thought it would be cool to even download a few videos to the storage drive and send them to her ..like a video letter..photos..family stuff..etc.
