My son arrived at BC on 11/29. I ha missed him terribly and was thrilled when I got his first letter home yesterday. I hope a phone call comes soon. Anyway, does anyone else have a family member in the same division? Maybe we can share information. I was so excited to find this site as it already has provided tons of info for me. Best to all! I will tell Erik about Grant and you! I have received three letters from Erik. Im actually quite amazed considering English and Literature wasn't his favorite...lol  I'm sorry to hear about your mother, especially during the holidays. It must be extremely hard for you right now. I will say a prayer :-)  The rifle thing was too funny. Im thinking it might have to do with that dang Game my son loved to play "Fallout" always firing guns, rifles, and running. Have you found anyone else with or same grad date and div? We do get snow here too in northern Arizona. In my sons last letter last week, he said mom please, please, please answer your cell phone if it comes up restricted. He knows I monitor my calls. In my sons last letter he said that they were really working them in the PT part, 150 situps and jumping jacks!! Have a great day. I'm off to write a letter as we speak. Regina

Tell Eric to tell Grant to write his mother! LOL  Have you joined the PIR 02/04/2011 Group?  There's about 50+members with kids who have the same PIR as our kiddos.  Very informative group if you haven't.

Haha I did tell Erik to tell Grant to write his mother!! I am a member of the PIR group, however I removed my name from Boot Camp for Mom's page, way too many daily emails. Receving like 100 or more! Hey Robyn, how old is Grant? Erik tuened 18 on June 14th of this year. His grandfather is a retired Commander in the Navy too. Gosh I love my Navy men ;-)

Grant turned 19 on Nov 1.  I agree about the BC page, hard to keep up with.  I just clicked stop following.  That way I get access to everything without all the emails. YAY!  We have a cousin who is retired Navy, but not in my direct family.  Army and Coast Guard was it til now.  I love saying my son is in the Navy!  It's just such a PROUD feeling!  I even downloaded Anchors Aweigh for my ringtone!  I think him being gone has made me go a little crazy.  I still think he will call and ask for $20 to put gas in his truck and I will gripe because he should have saved it from his paycheck.  I miss those days!  Btw, are you on Facebook?

yes, Robyne I am on FB - my name is Regina Strube and u? I cried putting my sons clothes in his drawers after washing them - how sad is that!! lol The little thing we miss :-)

I find it easier to search by email on Facebook to add new people, but whatever is easiest. I am Robyn Stevens, my son has a different last name. I try not to use it on here so that the RDC's don't give him too hard a time.  You can find me under the email address robyn_in_hereford@yahoo.com if you want to add me.  Talk about sad...my youngest daughter took over my son's room.  I have to move his furniture this weekend :((  I keep his hoodie in the car with me at all times so I feel like a part of him is always with me.  I also put his class ring on my keychain.  Now, when I grab my keys or am holding them, I use his ring and just slide it on my thumb for those few minutes.  Keeps him close to me, whether he wants to be or not. lol

My son is on SHIP 02 DIV 911 as well.  I just got "The Letter" a couple days ago.  I am so proud of him.  His PIR Date is 23 Jan.

Hi Melanie, note the start date of this discussion (December 10, 2010). Sons/daughters of the previous posters are probably are out on the fleet. It looks like you have joined your PIR group, so you're in good shape. Good luck.
