While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Packages to the Saberhawks

We will be keeping track of who and how many packages are on their way to our 2011 New Years adoption the Saberhawks!! Below is the breakdown of how many sailors from the squadron are on each ship and how many boxes are headed their way!!

USS Abraham Lincoln: 155 total, 130 male, 25 female 140 boxes

USS Halsey: 26 total, 23 male, 3 female 14 boxes

USS Shoup: 26 Total, 24 male, 2 female 14 boxes

USS Sterret: 26 Total, 24 male, 2 female 14 boxes

USS Momsen: 26 Total, 24 male, 2 female 14 boxes

So, here is the breakdown for the Washington party today:

The BIG item of the day was to fill the water bottles with love. We accomplished our mission of getting a letter/note into each and everyone of them. Then they got stuffed full of treats, goodies, and fun.This included beads and coins.

From there we moved onto boxes:

One ladies box each for the Halsey, Shoup, Sterret, Momsen.These are the only boxes that will have the water bottles in them to make sure the ladies got the water bottles we did for them.

One ladies box for the Lincoln. This box is loaded with tons of sample/travel sizes of lotions, soaps and such.

For the Lincoln we packed up a bunch more. One contained all the decorating and party items. The rest contained all kinds of fun items, games, goodies and treats and a few toiletries. The big hit I am sure will be the 2 boxes of homemade cookies that were nicely sealed up for shipping. All these boxes will be marked as to be shared with all.

It was a bit of work considering we had 10 ladies, I slow mover and 1 gentleman to do get it all done. But it was so much fun even if i was so restricted in what I could do.You ladies are all the best and I can whole heartedly say I am proud to call you all my Navy sister.

On one note, one of our helpers that was there right on time was from the VolunteerMatch. She was just such a big help and wanted to do more and more. I think we may see her around from time to time.

So, if just a dozen dedicated volunteers can crank out 20 boxes PLUS all those water bottles I can't wait to see what Illinois is going to do!

where isthe link for the list of request, I can't find it. I want to attend this Saturday but if I need to bring items I want to know what is needed. :)

I will be glad to send packages to the smaller ships -- but from the tally above, it looks like we need more to the Lincoln...? Let me know, I'll put together and mail about 10 boxes ;)

I have my 5 boxes for the guys. They include pirate hats, bandanas, tap light, couple pens, couple clicky pencils, snacks, spam, dried fruit, trail mix, jerky, foam sanitizer, cough drops, gum and a magazine for each. Since this is my son's squadron, I did a little extra mom love. haha

The 2 girl boxes have the same things except I put some 'girl things' in them and one has house shoes, one has toys and I am making them a tutu for those 2 boxes. If I have some netting left, I will make more and put those in with the M&Ms and Slim Jims that the whole squadron can share. I want them to know that we love them and appreciate their service.

They are kinda blurry but they say HSM77, Saberhawks, USS Abe Lincoln and a picture of a helo taking off with the sailors standing their ground on the flight deck.
