Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going through the same experience that you will be for the upcoming months.

My son will be flying out on Tuesday, 2/1 to Goose Creek, South Carolina for Navy Nuclear Power Technical School to become a Machinist Mate.  He will have A-school and Power School school there and then take Prototype either in GC or in Ballston Spa, NY prior to joining the fleet.
ET at Goose Creek or Charleston, SC.  He leaves Saturday morning after Graduation.  Its only about 109 miles from home.  A nice day trip.  My husband and I actually drove up last year in the spring just to walk across the bridge. 

AE (Aviation Electrician's Mate) in Pensacola.   Supposedly the real schooling starts in March.

He's also talking about being AirCrew as well.

He leaves Saturday morning.  

Staying in Great Lakes for ET A School...Then we are praying for some west coast action.

My son will be attending A school for Mass Communications in Ft Meade, Md. He will be leaving the first week in Feb. Ship 11 Div 058

 

My SR will be staying in Great Lakes for A-school.  She will be an HM...Hospital Corpsman.

No way! My daughter's ex-boyfriend is HC and went on to San Diego to train with the marines reconnaissance team as well, wanted to be in the action. He loved it, and just arrived in Okinawa, Japan 2 weeks ago for a 2 year deploy! Good luck to you and your husband! You never know, you may be living in Japan this year! :)

My husband is going to Pensacola Flordia for Aviation Electronics Tech! I so can't wait to visit him there and get out of the cold weather!

Staying at Great Lakes for A school

Denise, does he know where he will be after A-school?  And what is his rating going to be?
My son will be an EM leaving Great Lakes on Tues. for Goose Creek, South Carolina.
