Thought it would be great to learn where everybody's sailor is heading to after PIR.  This can be a great way to open new conversations at the M&G and also make new friends that will be going through the same experience that you will be for the upcoming months.

My son will be flying out on Tuesday, 2/1 to Goose Creek, South Carolina for Navy Nuclear Power Technical School to become a Machinist Mate.  He will have A-school and Power School school there and then take Prototype either in GC or in Ballston Spa, NY prior to joining the fleet.
ET at Goose Creek or Charleston, SC.  He leaves Saturday morning after Graduation.  Its only about 109 miles from home.  A nice day trip.  My husband and I actually drove up last year in the spring just to walk across the bridge.
