Where can I go to get something in writing to have printed in our local newspaper (of his accomplishments) when our son Graduates? January 28 at 9:37pm
U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command: During boot camp, the recruits are given the opportunity to complete a Fleet Hometown News release form that gets sent to their local newspapers. You will need to ask you recruit if he completed one and if so, then ask your local newspaper(s) what their average timeline is for receiving military news release information and when they publish it.January 29 at 8:54am

Passing Requirements and PIR
U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command: Passing Battle Stations shouldn't be a worry. Failing to pass academic tests or physical fitness tests, injuries and illnesses should be more the worry. We don't have a percentage to offer as to how many don't actually graduation on time. Do know however, that at any point if a recruit is in jeopardy of not graduating, he/she is allowed to phone with that information.

We took the taxi (shuttle) to PIR and found it easy. Dropped us off right at the gate and the Hall was right there - not a lot of walking. Afterwards just go right back out to where you were dropped off and cross the street and jump into any taxi to get back to your hotel. $3 per person, each way. After seeing the line of cars, we were happy we used the taxi. Do not be afraid to ask people who are directing traffic, for information/directions to taxis. We opted to take a 7am taxi, which was @ 40 minutes late picking us up. By the time we got into the Hall, it was packed. I had some great mom's who saves seats for my family, so we were not forced up into the balcony. With such a large group, go early!!! Pack yourself some granola bars for breakfast and hit the road to ensure you get to sit where you want. I would not take items to PIR that you do not need, as things do fall under the bleachers easily and you will not be able to retrieve them until after the ceremony is over. 805 - You will have the worst seats in the house, so be prepared. Your Sailor's will end up right in front of you though and it is amazing to just stare at the group. They do have a movie screen so you can see what is going on, center stage, but it isn't huge.© 2025 Created by Navy for Moms Admin. Powered by
