waynesmom: I was told by a veteran mom on here it is by when they arrive
I got the form letter today!  It had all the important info and a small note on the bottom from our sailor.  He says everything is going well and he is adjusting.  I have never been so excited to open a letter.
We got the box on Thursday.  It was sad but nice.

I received the "box" on Wednesday and the letter with info and a couple of lines at the bottom of the info.  He states that he is having a great time, a little challenging but nothing he can't handle!  They are allowed to write every Sunday..  Does anyone need the address?

Yolanda - Daniels Mom

I'm still waiting for the letter. Hopefully Monday

Kathy, I'm glad you fianlly got your form letter!

lisap, I'm still waiting too.... Just got the mail and it wasn't in there.

Our form letter came today!!! He's Ship 07 Div 114! SSMom, our SR's were most likely on the same bus! The message that they include in the form letter is short but those few sentences are precious to this Mama! To those who haven't received their letter yet, hang in there...it's on the way!

I got my form letter yesterday!

It was great to read " Sorry I haven't called but I've been kind of busy. I'm doing well and tell everyone I love them. And P.S. say hi to my cat! "  :)

It's been his baby since he was 9 years old...

I finally got the letter this afternoon. He said that it was the 4th day and it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, he missed us, and the mac 'n cheese isn't as good as his grandmother's...(that was the one thing he requested before he left--she made him like 5 lbs of it!)

lisap: Glad you got your letter. Still waiting for ours! However, It's only 12:15 here and the mail won't come until 5:00....sigh...

Sounds like your SR is doing just fine!

We got our letter! Our SR said it was awful, all they did was get yelled at and abused...he did show some humor so it can't be all that bad....I hope.  This is our child with the soft heart who never had to be yelled at for anything. He usually did what he was told because he didn't want to get in trouble. Sigh, I know he's going to be just fine, sure is hard on a Mom's heart though.

That sounds like our son! I can hardly ever remember having to raise my voice to him so the yelling has to be a shock to him! However, he's always seemed to have such an inner strength so I think he'll handle it fine. I often pray for him to have the strength and endurance to accomplish all that is set before him. You're so right, this is so hard on us Mom's because all we want to do all their lives is protect them but they're going to come through this as strong young men and will be so proud of the end result! I'm so looking forward to getting a REAL letter from him this week!
