Aawww, I'm so sorry that you are hurting BUT it will get better....I promise. Soon you'll get the kid in a box, then the form letter and soon letters and the occasional call.

You can call the recruiter for the temporary address (while in processing)

Join this group...it MAY be your PIR date (Pass In Review=graduation) 3/25 http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir32511 if it isn't your PIR group, no big deal just leave it and go to the right one.

also here is a good group for you to join...you will connect with N4M's with Jan DEPers   http://www.navyformoms.com/group/leavinforbootcampinjanuary

Also, go to your page and scroll down to read comments on your comment wall. I left you a greeting message back in Nov with links and other info that may be helpful

Thank you so much. This has been a great site to go to when I want to feel more connected to him. As bad as it sounds, it's nice to hear other moms are going through the same feelings and I'm not just a crazy mom...
My son left Jan 25th.  Received "The Box" on Friday and the official letter today.  Ship 7 Div 110 and looks like PIR is scheduled for March 25th.  Hoping he is doing alright.

Thanks for the info, I would think mine should be coming any day then.

Do you know what A school your son will be going to?

I hope it goes well, my daughter is being sent home due to a cataract they knew about before she left and they put all recruits going home in the pych barricks, she said bootcamp was way easier then where she is now. She has no idea when shes going home, she was in bootcamp 4 days before they checked her eyes and decided that. She was able to call me for 20 minutes to tell me this. Hang in there.
My son left 1/31, the pain still hasn't stopped for me and it's hard to explain to other family members, co-workers, etc.
mfsutton when is your grad date? Join the PIR group....lots of info and support

It's a little easier every day but I miss mine.

He is the youngest of 5 and now my house is empty. It doesn't help that my husband and I work opposite shifts and only see each other Saturdays and Sundays.

Have you received the box yet?

That was hard but I just have to reminding myself how great this is for him and how proud I am. What a wonderful experience and opportunity they will have. And honestly they are in good hands where a mother can rest assured that someone will be watching out for them better than if they were out on their own away at school. Just keep telling yourself this is all about them and their future.

Joining the Navy was such a smart choice and just shows us that we did a darn good job raising them.

As far as explaining to family and co-workers, I came right out and said I will be a mess for quite some time so deal with it. I will always be a mother first and one that loves her children most!

Hang in there, I promise it will get easier.

To Waynesmom..

I hope you are feeling better.

My son left 1/27/11 also.. Hurt like hell.. I finally broke down and let it out on Friday ( I needed to)  I am doing much better.  I am now also able to enter into his room where as I wasn't before.  I received the box on Tuesday and the Form Letter today.  I am doing much better now.

Hobys Mom- What ship and div is your son in?

My son just left yesterday to San Diego and is off to Chicago tomorrow.  I am also looking for ways and words of wisdom to deal with the pain.  I never knew my son wanted to join the service until last August and I cried for a week.  Everyone said I had to be strong and support his decision as an adult.   For him, I put up a good face, for me I would cry in my room.  He's 18 yrs old, but he's my son.  I've been there for him since he was in my tummy and now to let him go, I just don't know how to cope.  This website has great messages and great information for us moms.  I just hope it get's easier.

Thanks,

Seans Mom
