Hi!  Fantastic!  I was just this minute logging on to send you a message and see if you'd heard anything else and how you were doing .. :-)  So very glad to hear!  And, guess what -- we got another letter yesterday too!!  A very unexpected, happy surprise .. :-)  Have a great day!
Hi everybody.  I got the form letter (finally) and a letter from her yesterday but before I got that she called me. She needed some info.  It was a much better call than two weeks ago.  She is sick but hanging in there. I was so excited to hear from her.  We are on the down hill slide and can't wait to see all of them on the 25th.  Talk to you all soon. Thanks again for all of your support and answers.  This is a great web site!!
Hi All! How is everyone. I have talked to my daughter on the phone again yesterday. She sounded good. Has made a few friends. She's a stickman( flag bearer for graduation) and  the weapon's PO. Get letters fairly regular now. Hop everyone is doing fine.
Yes, They do seem Ok. I know how hard it is at first. They really treat them badly. There is a rhyme and a reason though! Hop to here from everyone again soon!
You can get a sailors bible at most Christian bookstore
It's a standard bible that says on the front ...The Sailor's Bible.
Wait, can we send a Bible!!???  I know my Son wants one too, but I didn't think we could send one!!

I think so.  My daughter took hers with her and they let her keep it.  She took it to church with her.

I gave my daughter a Sailor's Bible for Christmas. She took it with her and has mentioned being able to attend church. Her letters home so far are positive, but she misses us terribly. I can't wait to see her. she is leaving for FL the evening of Graduation (March 25th). She says she'll be there 7-21 weeks depending on her orders. it's terribly difficult for me not to know the details. I love hearing from her, and she from us!
My son took a small Bible and a Devotional. The Devotional came back in "The Box" but the Bible stayed with him! He also has gone to church! He'll be going to Pensacola after PIR as well...he hasn't told me when he leaves though???
My SR is actually div 111.  I think she has chosen to only tell me the good stuff.  I like that. I'm sure that helps her also.  In her letter today she gave me a list of ten fun facts about recruit training and ended it with RDC's are actually nice if you don't mess up.  She is 23 and it sounds like the worst of the homesickness is over for her.  I also miss her terribly!
Hi Tracie, they all regret their decision at first. it is really hard and they call them names, tell them that they are stupid. It will get less and less. The kids will realize that HEY! I'm not stupid and they really don't think I am.  It takes awhile but they"ll be OK! Hang in there!
