I've been writing most of my letters on the computer and told him that he can safely destroy them and just keep the handwritten things.
We picked a place called Great Lakes Motel. It's close, has a free shuttle, isn't terribly pricey, and (because I'm weird) doesn't come up on initial searches on travel sites or take online reservations. The reviews I found for it are good, so I'm hoping for 'good and relatively quiet.' :)
San Diego. He's STG. He HATES cold, so I know he'll be thrilled to go to Cali.
Right now, he's terrified because his run time isn't where it needs to be (his sit ups and push ups are through the roof great, though!) and he's afraid they're going to recycle him or kick him out because of the run time. :(
Oh that sucks! I heard they'll do everything they can to help the recruit pass their exams though. I wish him the best! I'm sure he'll make it.
Thanks for the add btw :) My husband hates the cold too. I can't wait to see him!
*laughs!* I got drawings, too! He did little mini versions of a cat on the most recent letter.
Is it normal for the recruit leadership positions to change around? He was Yeoman to start out with and when he was fired and I kind of freaked out, he was all zen about it, like it's normal for that to happen.
I love seeing that little envelope waiting at the end of the week. It makes for a nice close to my week, too.
What do you teach? I'm reading specialist, K-4. Some weeks are longer than others! :)
Does anyone know what time they get to make those calls?
I'm wondering if it's early enough that it'll be before I leave for school or if I will have to wait all day at school to get home to a message instead of a live voice. I really really want to get that call in person!
We received a surprise, short phone call last night! Evidentally our SR did something and was rewarded for it. So nice to hear his voice! There is another bad cold going around, but in all the Div is doing well. Can't wait for that I'm a Sailor call. I am soooo proud of all the men and women at BC right now!
Kathy, it is so neat that your SR will become a Sailor on his B-day! He will never forget it!
