For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Zacksmom, the grads get to spend time with you after grad, can leave and go to eat, whatever they want. My son wanted to go to the mall and just walk and talk with me. Then we went to eat. The next day we spent all day together - went to see two movies, he called everyone he knew and caught up. Sunday we went to the lake and watched the boats. It was his time, and we did whatever he wanted.

Zacks mom - i have been rading about that too.. and i think they have to return at night... and i also read that if 1 of them are late...no one can leave the rest of the weekend:(... that will really SUCK if something like that happens... and there is something about Grad and Go... that they might have to check in almost right after graduation?... and might take up to 5 hours for them to be able to leave and we can't stay... we'll have to leave and come back and pick them up... when will your son graduate?... i am not sure when Tyler does.. haven't recieved his form letter yet...

Zacks PIR is scheduled for April 15th. Did your son get sworn in at the St. Louis location? If so and he is in Zacks unit I have pictures posted on my page of the young men being sworn in on the 17th. Take a peek and see if your Tyler is in the picture and if so I will send you a copy...

My son left for Bootcamp on February 15th, how long does it take to get "the box" ? I was excited to come home every day last week and it has not come. Now I'm wondering if it is lost. :o(

My Son left on February 17th and I received "the box" on the 23rd... Where do you live? We live in Central Illinois.... Have you received your first letter with all of the information about PIR yet?

My son left on Feb. 15th and I did get my form letter but not "the box". I live in Oregon. Maybe that is why since I am very out of state. LOL

Your letter should be there the first part of this week. I received my box on a Tuesday and my letter came on Saturday.

Mom son left on 2/15 and we got the box on 2/21. Hubby and I were off for Pres Day and went out for the day since the kids had to make up a snow day at school. So when we got home, the kids and "the box" were home. Since they were excited to open it, I couldn't really get too emotional, which is good. The poor dog was sniffing all through his stuff. My 14 year old told me to hurry up and wash his hoodie because he wanted to start wearing it, lol!

Well here I write again and still no box. He went to bootcamp on the 15th of February. I got the form letter and I actually received a hand written letter from him yesterday!! That was so awesome!! Talk about a flood of emotions!! But still no "box". So I just think it hasn't been sent yet or something. I keep praying !!

Well, its me again! Its been 30 days and still no box!! I have to get him another cell phone after i call public relations to check on it. :o(

It's me again! I contacted Public Affairs from the Navy RTC facebook site and was given the phone number to call. I asked what to do about "the box" and was then transferred to the processing center. I gave my son's name and "the box" made it back to RTC. Whew!! I guess the address was wrong or something!!! I have to write him a letter to see if he can get permission to resend it to me. WooHoo!!! I'm so excited to have some news!!! Thanks for putting up with me everyone!!
