This is the final test for the SRs.  They will be tested on all that they have learned and all that they may encounter when deployed on a ship.  It is a 12 hour overnight drill.  The go over to the Disney-created ship (USS Trayer) in the evening and finish up with a capping ceremony in the morning.  At this ceremony, they trade their recruit caps for their sailor caps, have now graduated, and are sailors!  Teamwork is the name of the game...they will be put into small teams and must function well together.  They will be evaluated as team members and as individuals.  This is what a Chief said about BattleStations:  150-300 recruits go through a night, out of that 3-10 may fail and have to repeat on another night.  Teamwork is the key.  If the recruits keep their mouths shut, listen and focus, and work as a team, they will pass.

The divisions will go through with their brother divisions.  Up to 4 (2 sets of brother divisions) can go a night, but sometimes only 2(brother divisions) or 3 (set of brother divisions, 900 or 800 division) can go. They start with the lowest numbered divisions and work up...800 and 900 divisions are random.  They can start these on Thurs a week before PIR, or not until Sun or Mon of PIR week for small PIR groups. They do not do them on Fri or Sat nights because of Captains Cup on the Sat before PIR---a fun athletic competition between divisions.  If a SR fails, he/she will get some rest and go again with another division.  They can even go as late as Thurs night before PIR, which means they will be at PIR in uniform, but in the balcony due to no rest. They also have to have passed all tests before going through BattleStations...and anyone who doesn't accomplish this will not be able to go through with their division....but another one once the tests are completed.

The I'm a Sailor calls usually come around 2 pm GL time...and continue for a number of hours afterwards.  They have activities on the day they finish so can't call right away...some may even have PIR practice before calling.  Have phones handy all day!   If you don't receive a call, it could be that your new sailor had watch or another duty that kept him/her from calling.  If there is a setback, you will be called.

The brother divisions in this PIR group are:

109+110, 111+112, 113+114

919

Please ask your SR when BattleStations is scheduled for their division and post the date on here and the main board.  I will start a schedule then.  HOOYAH!

netlas:  I wouldn't share anything on N4Ms with your SR.  They tell them just as much as they need to know!  They will know about BattleStations, but may not know details yet.  So...mums the word!
Except for the fun questionnaires!! :)
Div 114 has Battlestations the night of 3/21.
Thanks, Kathy. It's on the schedule now!
my boyfriend is division 109 so that means it will start the 17th & go until the 18th? you think I willl recieve the call the 18th or 19th? cause the 19th is my birthday & I took that day off so I can for sure answer the call. I think I might take the 18th off too just in case cause I missed his first calls but he got a chance to call back a few days later but it SUCKED missing his calls.
i know how you feel, i didn't miss the call, i rejected it because i was in the middle of a text when he called and I hit the wrong key!
jennifer: He could call either day...19th if no time (or he has watch) on the 18th.
So when the BattleStations date is the 18th, that means they actually start the exercise the night of the 17th? I'm running a half marathon on Saturday the 19th and don't want to be in the middle of my run when he calls!!
Yes, it is an overnight drill and they don't do it on Fri or Sat nights due to Captains Cup  (athletic competition for all divisions) on Sat.  Sooo...they will go over to the USS Trayer (mock up ship) in the evening of the 17th, and conclude in the early daylight hours of the 18th with a capping ceremony (their actual graduation!  Very emotional time for them!).  So...good luck on your 1/2 marathon!  He should be calling you on Fri (unless he has watch and has to call on Sat....let's hope not!)
Thanks Dianne. I feel much better now. I'm just hoping he doesn't have watch too!! :)
Thank you SO much for keeping us all up to date.  It just can't come soon enough.
I'll keep working with you all on the schedule and info...I remember how important this day is!  I sure hope this group is easier to schedule than the 3/11 group has been....OUCH!  I'm getting a headache trying to figure that one out!  :-)
