Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

Looks like there is a Chili's near both hotels and another place called Anastasia Sports Bar and Grill if I remember correctly.  Let me know if either will work.
Good morning,  I am still looking for a restaurant and I think I will call our hotel and see if they have any ideas.  We checked around the gate at the base and didn't really see anything.  Let me know if you have any ideas!
Either of those places is fine with me, although a sports bar on Friday night might be a little noisy. Checking with the hotel sounds like a good idea, or we can wait until we get there and see what's around. I imagine the hotels must be pretty close to each other. We'll need to exchange cell phone numbers so we can finalize things. Are any of your SR's staying in GL for A school?

I am going to call the hotel today and go from there.  If we exchange phone numbers we need to friend each other.  I sent a request to you. Or at least I tried, hopefully it went through.  Haven't heard lately form our third member.  Hope all is good.

My sr is heading for Pensacola, Fl..  Yours?

Mine's training in GL. Don't know if he will go straight there after PIR though, because he was supposed to be in boot camp until 3/18. Being put in this push division might mean he will have to be in the holding barracks at RTC for a week before the A school starts. But like everyone else, we'll just have to wait and see what the Navy's plans are!
This is going to be a long weekend ladies!  I am so happy for the new sailor mom's, but we still have Test 3 and the weekend to go!  I guess we can do it though as we are Navy mom's!

Is Test 3 the last academic test? This is going to be a long weekend! I have confidence they will do well, but it sure is nerve wracking to not know for sure until a couple of days before we're supposed to fly up there.

Did you talk to the hotel?

We fly out on March 9....sooo yes cutting it very close..They will all do well!!!!!  GO NAVY!!!!

I haven't had a chance to as I have had allergies and work.  Between the two I have been wiped out.  I am feeling better today so will do that.  Sorry about that.

We also fly out on 3/9 in the morning!  I think Test 3 is the last academic test.  It is cutting it close and I really hope the testing is the night of Monday and the morning of Tuesday!  Looong weekend!

Don't worry about it if you're too busy, glassdog. I'm swamped at work, too. We can always check it out when we get there, or just meet in the lobby of the hotel.

Welcome, DebbieD!

I just checked with the hotel and the have an area called the Gatehouse that we can meet at.  He indicated they had coffee but not really anything else.  Do you think we can get phone numbers to each other and try calling each other when we get in.  Perhaps when we can look around we can get an idea.  My husband and I will be arriving on Wednesday so will have time to check things out.
Hi DebbieD!  Glad you found us.  Where are you staying?
