it is seems like forever for sure! as I put in one of my blogs somewhere... I feel like us moms are in BC too! hey no fair!

Today has been an especially hard day for me for some reason.  Maybe every Monday will be hard since that is the last full day that I spent with him.  Last talked to him on Wednesday, Feb 17th when I got the call.  I know I am more than ready to hear from him again!

That's how I feel today. Its just been hard. More tears today.
@Teresa, I to want so desperately to hear is voice and today is day 13 for me....
hi Carol and Teres and Kim.. i am also sad! i wish i could really talk to my daughter too or get a real letter which hasn't come yet! I just talked to my next door neighbors whose son graduated a few years ago and they reminded me that our recruits are very busy..they are non stop and according to their son very little personal time.. however i still hope I get a call soon! i miss her..

AshleysmomRosemary,

We got a letter yesterday and he left on 2/16/11...it was short and sweet...he said its not want he thought it would be...not that bad...they do yell at you but after about day 4 or 5 its like they are just talking...I guess he is use to it...and he said the food is really good ....and my son was a picky eater.....I should say he was they kid who ate the same thing all the time....it had to have cheese....toasted cheese,  mac and cheese...no fruit or vegetables...which the pediatrician always told use he would grow out of and with peer pressure would start eating better...never happened...so it he likes the food he must be really hungry....LOL...it was a letter that gave us a lot of solace... we were worried of course and now WE feel better....LOL..yours will come any day now...hang in there....

hi kim..hope it comes soon!!! hang in there!

Has anyone gotten a letter or phone call from son/daughter? Its been 16 days since I heard from my son. I know they are very busy and they don't have alot of time but oh how I wish to hear from him. I check the mail everyday and carry my phone every where I go.
Hi Teresa, Yes I got a letter yesterday.  Doug is doing well, he says he is the laundry man for his division, which cracks me up because he never did laundry at home!  (It just piled up until he had nothing to wear - or until I couldn't stand it!)  My guess is they get a little time on Sunday to write letters and it took until Wednesday to get to Southern Illinois.  Hope you get a letter today!!!

Kimcon,

My son also left on the 16th so I will be checking my mail with a magnifier from now on....though my son was never a big writer so even if I get something it will be short and sweet.....thanks for sharing

I know that you must have been over joyed. I am still hoping to get one in the next day or two. I am glad to hear that your son is doing well...and I find the laundry thing funny because my son is the same way...clothes piled up until he had nothing to wear and then it was "mom can you wash my work shirt" but you know I miss those days of doing his laundry (lol)....Well back to work hope you have a blessed weekend.

Hello moms.

I got a letter yesterday from my son I was so excited when I opened the mail box and saw it, it was like winning the lottery. He states that he is doing well and its an adjustment but he sounded like he was handling it pretty well. He misses us and his dog, and the fast food chains. But it was so great getting that letter, and his grandparents received one today they were over joyed. I hoping to get one every week now every day would be great but I will take what I can get. WE ARE COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS.
