There is a taxi driver that caters to Navy families. I hear he is wonderful (but in high demand). I recommended him to a mom in my PIR group and she called him right away. He arranged to pick her up at the airport and drive her to her hotel. She was traveling alone and was so grateful, she ended up using him the whole weekend. Also,,as it got closer to PIR she posted on the board here asking if there was anyone else arriving at the airport the same time as her and if so, if they wanted to share the taxi ride and split the cost...and there was!, it worked out for her like that the whole visit. here is his info...he is VERY reasonable and helpful.
"Sarge" (his name)

Okay - I called Sarge and he asked that I post this up on our group to possibly see how many are interested in sharing the cost of the Taxi service from O'Hare to any of the Training Command Hotels. He has 8 Taxi's to accomodate us. We can stagger times, whatever works for us.
FYI - I get into Chicago around 12:30 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2011 by
US Airways Flight 7478 staying at the Ramada close to Training Command.
And of course am able to wait until we get a few together to make a group per time frame/cab.
Let me know if there is any interest. The same can be arranged for departures as well.
Thank you, Felicia

Ann Marie - we are speaking about getting from O'Hare Airport to our respective hotel(s) the day before PIR. Are you speaking of getting from the hotel to PIR? Ramada and quite a few of the other accomodations have shuttle service to and from Great Lakes on Friday morning. I am so anal I am making sure your talking about graduation morning - ha ha
