I was a letterless SR's wife last week, so I've heard nothing!

Hopefully, he got them. I'm considering sending another tomorrow just because!

We had about 8" and no power for the last 15 hours...FREEZING!!

I received a very short letter last Thursday--just told us to go ahead and book our airfare for the 25th. I'm so glad I did it then. The tickets have already gone up over $60 pp.

Now if only they had basic in a nice warm, tropical place....

Mine, too. I am looking forward to him there
Yes, my son is in this division.  I can't wait until the end of the month when I can give him a hug in person.
I can't wait to just hug the stuffing right ourt of my kiddo!

Had a great conversation earlier this week with my son as well...He sounds so good and happy and that makes me smile! His letters just confirm to me that he made the right decision joining...He seems to have such an appreciation for all he's learning and I can feel his pride for the Navy and our country as I read his words..and that makes this mom proud!!

It sounds like we are feeing similar things Jenine.  I didn't get a phone call this week (but I did get a phone call that was the best birthday gift ever last month!)  I got a great letter on Wednesday.  In it, my son shared about what they did each day last week and how that kept them all very busy.  What's so encouraging to me is to read that he was enjoying the challenges and feeling strong and confident.  I can see a real transformation happening in him as he learns skills and sees all he can accomplish.  I know he feels a sense of pride in the team work and how he is conducting himself and the man he is becoming. He says he has met great friends who are like brothers who support each other.  He said that he and most passed the test 2 with flying colors... now they just need to get their "marching" to improve.  His words about home and looking forward to seeing us made my heart sing.  I am extremely proud of him and can't wait to tell him how much in person!
Proud Mom, I know what you mean!! But I just couldn't wait to tell him in person so I wrote him a letter this morning telling him how proud I am! My son has also mentioned making a lot of friends,,,,And he said the exact same thing that he passed tests with "flying colors"!! I'm so proud of his attitude and appreciation for all that he's learning..it sounds like the Navy is doing a very good job with our kids!

Greetings, 114 families! A bit late to post for pre-PIR, but I only just discovered this site.

Thought it might be interesting to connect w/group. Our family was down in front of bleachers with a 3 year old and infant. There was a family right next to us with a young boy about my granddaughter's age.
