Hi all,

I have not posted in quite some time, life has been kind of crazy here .

Anyway, I am a home soap maker and all bath and body products.

I would like to donate a lot of my items to all military, as well as sailors, deployed over in Iraq and

Afghanistan. I would also be gathering up all donations from my other soap making friends on etsy.
Any suggestions for places to send said items???
I do have a friend, who's son (same age as my son) is in the army and recently deployed to Afghanistan, so will be sending a bunch of lip balms etc to them.
I would appreciate any ideas and or suggestions of where to send home made bath and body items to be best needed .
Thanks all

Sanmor, Check out "Molly's Adopt A Sailor". We choose a group every month.Check out "March in Afghanistan" This month's group has 15 females in it and are requesting shampoo and body wash items. If you pack a box for them just use a marker and label the outside "female". Any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Pat
You are a doll to want to help us with the nicer soaps and all.  Yes, please do join us on Molly's Adopt a Sailor.  the link is on my page or let me know if you want me to send it to you!

Thank you ladies, popping off to check out what you are talking about. I am also part of a large soap making team on etsy, so wanted to have them send stuff to me too.

Thank you

Thank you Pat, but I have been doing things like this for a few years. Had a break from it for 6 years, because hubby retired from the Navy then. I was an ombudsman for all of his 20.
Now I am a Navy mum and want to help all of those wonderful young men and women.

Great! You are a fabulous addition to "Molly's"!!!!

Hello!

I think that the lip balms would be the best thing of all!  My friend's son is currently in Afghanistan.  He was able to get home for a short visit and recently returned to Afghanistan.

The top item on his wish list was wet wipes.  He said that there are times when the water is frozen and they are unable to wash up.  He also said that if they are out for an extended period of time, the only water they have is drinking water.  No one is able to wash up properly.

If you have more items to donate let me know and I will pass his address along to you or I can meet you and I will send the items to him.  I am sending a box of wet wipes, tylenol and tums this week.  i am always sending boxes because the guys really do appreciate everything that is sent to them.

The USO is also a wonderful place to send bath and body products.  Many of the airport USOs have showers available for military to use.  They have a small budget to provide military members with essential items.  They accept all types of donations.

Have a great night,

Laura
