Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have not been doing much of anything these last few days but mope and check online.  I have read everything on this site since I found it, just about 5 days ago.  Why I haven't made the search earlier, I don't know.  It would have made his leaving for BC less traumatic.  But then again, I have been in denial until we exchanged our goodbye hugs on Monday...

 

I would love to hear from others whose loved ones share the same ship/div.  Mine will go to Nuke school later on and I'm so hungry for more news and info.

I hate that i wish they could get it today. i work 12 hour shifts on sundays. booo. techn im not allowed to have my phone in the building for security reasons but i still do in case i get a call from him.
I am hoping tomorrow night.  Surely they won't take the only time they have to write, IRON, and go to church away from them.
i wouldnt hold it pass them. lol
Hey everyone. I'm still waiting on letters, but it has been a great help hearing about everyone else's. I have my fingers crossed for my letters tomorrow and that everyone gets phone calls this weekend, hopefully long ones!!

  you might want to join/check on the NUKE MOMs group...most of them said their nukes

went out on Saturday right after grad, or the following Tuesday...

I got my call!!!!

My son just called---talked about 20 minutes--I could hear others in the background jostling for the next one up.  He's got a cough but seems to be handling things okay.  OMG!  I AM JUST THE HAPPIEST MOM right now (I did mean to shout, I know you'd all understand).  He said everyone in his division gets to call so have a great time with yours everyone!
