How many of you plan  on or have gone to graduation? It is a long distance for us , my husband has not flown since he was a teenager  and I'm not sure I could get him on a plane anyway!  We are from a small town  so  city traffic seems intimidating to me though my husband is a truck driver. (He HATES traffic, too)  Our son doesn't go to boot camp until Feb 23 ( his 21st birthday!) but I am trying to work this whole thing out in my head. I have look at airfare/hotel/car pkgs and about choked!

After graduation on the 25th when do they get to go back home?
My son leaves for boot camp 4/12/11 does anyone know what his graduation date will be?
July 8th.
Really? wow I thought sometime in June. I am glad I asked. Thank You
Marie M...I think that navymalespouse was answering another question. Your PIR date should be most likely June 17..depends on how long in processing and if the RTC skips any weeks for PIR.
Thank You, I hope you're right. I was scheduled to be in Fort Wayne the weekend before this and I was trying to figure out if I should cancel my trip.
I am sorry. I answered the wrong person. I apologize.

That's ok.

I would not have missed it for anything!  We drove from NC to Chicago because airfare was too expensive and crammed into one hotel room.  It was worth everything that we sacrificed beforehand (and after) to be there.  Do what ever you have to to go.  There are area discounts for families going to PIR - your sailor should be sending this info to you.

Lorry

I would never dream of not going. This is way more important than my convention , I was just trying to see if I could do both. I went last year for my daughter and should be going again later this is as my other son is waiting to get a date to go. Thanks for the tips on the discounts.
hi my son graduates friday april 15th our 14 yr old son has decided that he would like to go we know he will have to wait to see if he can get in but we are unable to get him a photo id all we have is a ski mtn pass with his name and picture does anyone know if this will be okay with his birth certificate

PIR APRIL 8th...Anyone interested I know of a Wonderful and trusting man who can pick you up anywhere for Cheap. He was never late and gave great tips on Food and Entertainment! Our trip was four days long and we used him everyday we were there. I can't thank him enough for his services! We made a great friend there and are still in contact.....He cares so much about these Sailors I can't even begin to express his love for the Navy and for people.....Message me if you want his phone# and name or  have any questions....

Thanks Shanna
