Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

DAUGHTER GOING TO MEPS 4/18/2011.I have a lot of questions

My daughter will be going to MEPS on the 18th of April in San Diego. She has been told by her recruiter that if they offer her a job of peeling potatoes she better take it and if she does not he will be upset.  Question. So my daughter who has a 4.5 GPA is going to just go in and accept any job thrown at her come the day of job assignment?  What happens if she does not choose a job they have offered her that day?  Can her recruiter choose to not work with her anymore?

If she is interested in corpsman with the eventual desire to be a nurse, she can do Seaman to Admiral at E4, and the Navy will help pay for the education.

FYI....people do NOT have to be an E4 to go into the STA-21 program, that is a myth!  They can try at E1, once they are at their first command (after all training)

Selective reserve, she is not going reserves is she? I thought she was enlisted in active service...

No she is going enlisted active duty. I just looked there and saw a lot more 1 LOL thank you

FYI...that CREO is OLD!  The classifiers have access to newer information than that.  Sorry unless you have a CAC card and passwords that is the only way to access the new CREO list.

My daughter waited 6 months for the navy to offer her a hospital corpsman job.  She just left for boot camp on 4/5/11.  She went in as an E2 because of her college credits.  If she is smart and scores high on her ASVAB they will offer her the nuke program.  I have a good friend who is a nuke.  Very hard program!!!  Tell her to read everything she can on the jobs she wants and WAIT until they offer her the job she wants.  My daughter was talking to the Navy last summer, was finally offered the Hospital Corpsman job after 2  trips to MEPS.  She was in DEP for 6 months.  My daughter had 3 different recruiters during her time before boot camp.  So what if her recruiter gets upset!  They have quotas to meet.  Don't let her take something she doesn't want to do!!!

Thank you so very much.. Her trip to MEPS has been delayed because she has to complete her accutane before she is even able to go down there..Her recruiter honestly is not the best out there but at this point it is what it is. She is still moving forward and will study for the ASVAB. 

 

I just had her read your post and it made her smile, she is determined

My son leaves for MEPS on the 19th and returns on the 20th. I will let you know how it goes. I am anxious to see if there are any jobs open or not and what he is offered. I will keep you posted.
