Hi all, I am not very artsy craftsy, and I was wondering if any of you are making a memory box or scrapbooking project for your SR's momentos. I have a bunch of pictures from Nick's going away party, his two letters on navy letterhead, his kid in a box an his form letter, plus a bunch of other stuff and I would like to make something for him to keep. I know he might not appreciate it right away but maybe in the future he would like to look back on the start of his navy career.

any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks angela

Hi Angela,

I'm not very crafty either, so we're on the same page. I did find a beautiful Navy scrapbook at Michaels craft store. I had a 50% off coupon at the time so it was only $15!! Of course they have all of goodies that go with scrapbooking...paper, stickers, decals etc. I'm keeping all of my son's letters and even have his boarding pass when he left for the Great Lakes.

Michaels does have a website, and if you sign up they send you all kinds of coupons and deals. I could spend hours at Michaels. I hope this helps.

thanks so much, I will look in sunday's paper to see if there are any coupons. Does the scrapbook say navy on it? that would be really cool.
nicksmum, YES!! It has the Navy emblem on the cover and the book is (of course) navy blue. I am very impressed with it. Michaels fliers were in our Sunday papers this week. If you can't find one try their website.
hello! I am doing a navy memory box! To save all letters from boot camp along with pictures of his fellow SRs when i get to graduation. I got my box at walmart in the office supplies and went to michaels for most of the stickers because they had the actual navy emblems and sailors and american flags and things like that. Im just stickering it up! :D
thanks so much for your idea, I am going to go to michaels and walmart tomorrow and check things out. what size box did you get?

Nicksmum,

Did you get to Michaels and or Walmart and find what you wanted/needed? I'm interested in knowing what you decided on!
