Can't wait until May 13th!  I may have to have an Easter Basket waiting at the hotel for him - does anyoe now if they are still having a Grad and Go program.  I heard there was  new policy where there are not allowing anyone overnight visits after graduation.  But then again you hear a lot of stuff - we will be staying at the Ramada - I thought he might want to get away from the base!  It's abut 4 miles away.

Sandman713 - We're staying at the Ramada too!  As far as liberty goes, they can be off base for the day but he will have to be back at the base for the night.  I believe curfew is 9 pm, which means you want your SR back earlier than that.  If he misses curfew, he will miss his liberty privileges for the next day - NOT GOOD!

Hope to meet you at the Meet and Greet on Thursday!

On another note from my earlier post, my SR has passed all his requirements, but he said that inspections haven't gone well for some of the others.  I hope things start turning around soon for these guys.

I hope we do get to meet!  I sent you a friend request.  My son has told me the same - he has aced his test, past his swim test and passed his first inspection.  He said he is also in the running of being what they call a stick.  He would be one of the SR's who holds the flags at the front of the division at the graduation ceremony.  He said he's working very hard at it and if he makes it through he will be extra proud of himself!  He's already proud of the fact that he is given the opportunity to be a stick!

That's awesome Sandman!  I hope the next time I talk to my son he'll be able to give me more info on "jobs" like that.  I know he has watch from 12 midnight to 2 am, but how often I'm not sure.  Other than that, he hasn't said much about other responsibilities - but then again, I've only had one "real" phone call from him.

Can't wait to meet all of you from Ship 12 Div 168!

My boyfriend is also in the running to be a stick :) I'm soooo proud of him!!

My husband is one of the people carrying the flag. I guess they're called "sticks". He said there were 2 positions open after he got his wisdom teeth pulled so they gave him the opportunity when he went back. I'm glad because that means he's going to be in the front where we can see him during graduation haha. He passed his first pfa and the written part too so he was glad.
He stands watch from 12 am to 2 am as well, every other night I think he said. I asked him what they do during watch but he hasn't told me. I would have a hard time not falling asleep!

I tried to reply to you earlier but my computer got stuck - let me try this again!

Did you have his wisdom teeth removed after he got to bootcamp?  Is that something they automatically do?  I had my son get his removed about two months before he left for BC because I had heard they do that and I wanted to make sure he had someone to take care of him.

Also, maybe I mis-understood - I thought you got to "try-out" to be a stick and if you "make" it through then you are a stick - do you know something different?  Thanks Ascoobus

He had 2 of them pulled as well as a chipped tooth. They only pull them if they are giving them a problem. As far as trying out I don't know if they have to or not. He didn't say anything about trying out. Just that he had been doing it for like 3 or 4 days already.

Thanks - Please let me know if he tells you anything else about being a stick (and I will tell you what I find out)!

Okay : )   I love finding anything out that has to do with his division haha. It makes me feel closer to him.

I got a letter today!!   He wrote me a little bit every day...sounds like the division is really coming together...he says that they are getting closer and stronger everyday!
