Hi there,
I thought it would be fun to see if there are other Moms with kids in this same group. I have already joined the May 20, 2011 PIR group but thought it would be fun to meet others in this same group. Just to keep tabs on each other and our kiddos! Since the 927 Div is a special division , maybe once we start hearing from our children, boyfriends, girlfriends and spouses we can get to know about each other and all of them and thier accomplishments! Lets brag about them here!
Let me hear what you think? Then when PIR arrives we can find each other to support them and be proud together.

Yes, I always look at the pictures to see if I can spot him! I am going crazy not hearing from him. Last night I got the DVD that the DJ took at his going away party and I just cried watching it. I miss him like crazy!
Hi Ladies,
My son is also in this division, still waiting for that first letter and anxious to hear what he is doing for this group. My husband and one of my friends were part of this group when they went through boot camp my friend played the bugle and my husband carried on of the flags, but that was years ago and not even in GL:-)
Hi there ladies... Here it is another PIR day at great Lakes!! Congrats and Bravo Zulu to the soon to be Grads! It looks like we have a group! There are 4 of us now! I also look forward to hearing from our kids and getting to know you as well. It will be nice to hear all of the stories soon. I am sure that we will get our first letters soon , but they are all working twice as hard with all of their extra work. I am just staying as patient as possible. I think I might cry when I get his first letter!!
In the mean time thank you for your interest in getting to know each other and I look forward to seeing you at the Meet n Greet and our PIR!! Have a wonderful weekend all!!
I read somewhere in another forum discussion that 02 927 was a special group? Is this true? I can't think of anything that would make my son stand out from other recruits other than he scored high on his ASVAB and had two years of college from Purdue.
I know how you feel about anxiously awaiting that first letter. I sometimes feel like a postal carrier stalker waiting at the door and racing to the mailbox when she stops at my box! Good grief, Charlie Brown!
Linda
Linda,
So your boy is a Boilermaker, huh? The 927 IS a special Div. All 900 Div.s are. They are referred to as the Performance Division. They are chosen by the RDC's when they first arrive at BC. They are asked if they have any band, marching, chior, ROTC, Color guard, Honor guard, or flags experience. Some ar also chosen because of high scores, college or even age and leadership experience. These SR's not only keep up their regular training, but put in extra time and hours drilling, marching, practicing with the 900 group(S) ahead of them. They perform at PIR ceremonies (including thier own!) and at local events, pro sporting events. It is really cool! If you look through the PIR photos posted on the RTC's Facebook page, you will see groups with the yellow or gold colored scarves and braids. Those are the 900 SR's! So each week check out those pics and in the next week or two we may catch glimpses of our kiddo's!! I am sure that they are too new to be participating in today's PIR. But it should be in the 3rd or 4th week. Keep your eyes open!!
Linda, I forgot to mention that there is a 900's group @ N4M's also, that is where I have learned a lot about some of the things they do and they are also very helpful. I am really looking forward to seeing pics and hearing from my guy too! I can't believe that we are one more PIR Closer to 5-20-11!!! Bravo To the newest Sailors and their families!
