Hi there,

I thought it would be fun to see if there are other Moms with kids in this same group. I have already joined the May 20, 2011 PIR group but thought it would be fun to meet others in this same group. Just to keep tabs on each other and our kiddos! Since the 927 Div is a special division , maybe once we start hearing from our children, boyfriends, girlfriends and spouses we can get to know about each other and all of them and thier accomplishments! Lets brag about them here!

Let me hear what you think? Then when PIR arrives we can find each other to support them and be proud together.

Hi everybody! I am not certain that they leave for P'cola on Sat. but I have heard of some of the kids leaving the day after PIR. We would also like to spend as much time as possible with our son, but when the Navy says its time to go they go! Things are a bit more relaxed at A school than they are at bc. So we can look forward to more mail, calls and I believe they can have their gadgets (computers and cell phones) back then. Our son is a Avionics Electronics Technician. (AT) What are your bf's contracted for? Hope you keep hearing from your guys and Mom's that you keep getting mail and calls from the kiddo's! I can't believe that we are almost half way through! Has anyone got any real idea of which week and day we are on?? I am still confused about the week 1 day 1 thing!! Please keep my 21 yr old niece in your thoughts and prayers as she arrives at GL today some time! She is just beginning and I have already got her Mom set to join boot camp Mom's!! Hugs to everyone, Toodles! Connie
My boyfriend is also an Aviation Electronics Technician.  How great!  I'm glad that A School will be more relaxed because this is tough!!  He will also be going to Pensacola.  I pray that each of you keep the faith and that you continue to hear from your boyfriend and sons!  It's not too much longer!!

It is funny to think of the kids ironing "undies"! Our son is 30 and I know that if nothing else, he will come out of bc knowing how to REALLY make a bed, iron his clothes and put evrything back in its proper place!! LOL!

I was trying to think of a way that we could all know each other at PIR just in case we don't catch each other at the Meet and Greet. I know that some previous groups have all worn the same color or their ribbons, or even a certain color scarf. I just don't want to do anything too crazy, do not want to disrespect the RTC or embarass our SR's!! Does anyone have an idea? I know that we will be seated in about the same area at PIR but it would be neat to be able to recognize each other!

28 days left gang!!

I

have  been visiting with Lora who is the woman who makes all of the PIR  ribbons. What do you think of ordering a custom made Gold ribbon w/black lettering that is the same color as the gold scarves the 927 will be wearing at PIR? She said that she would be able to do them for us at the same price as the blue ribbons she makes and will also give us a bulk order price? The ribbons would be $6.00 ea.and shipping will be $6.00 also. I know that I will need 3!  I kind of like the idea of having something that is tasteful, understated and will be a special memory for us to keep!! Please let me know what you think asap, so I she can start working on them!!

Connie

Connie! that is a great idea! I will need three also. Put my order in. Let me know what details I need to give and how we go about placing our orders. I saw the ribbons on one of the comments and they look really nice. Also I think it's not to tacky and very tasteful. Not too over the top. AND GOLD/YELLOW ribbons do really stand out. It'll show our pride for our sailors! =)

Lora said that she would need to have your SR's name, our div# of coourse and then our individual home addresses. She said that it works better to ship them directly to each of us rather that to 1 person to pass out at PIR weekend. I guess one time a Mom was delayed by weather and couldn't get to Great Lakes in time to pass them out to her group. We already have 2 orders for 6 for her!

We got a second letter from our son today, he told me he will be serving and greeting all of the big wigs and Officers in the back room and wont actually be part of the PIR ceremony. Bummer! But at least I will be there with my ribbon on! :)

My son is in the 927 Division too and he told me I may not see him at the PIR either because he would be in the back room with the big wigs and officers.   Made me kinda sad but I guess we will see them after the ceremony.    Do you know where your son is shipping out too for A School?

Hi OPM! Good to meet you welcome! Our son is going to A school in P'cola Fl. He is contracted as an Avionics Electronics Tech. (AT)  where is your son going? Tell us a bit about him, How is he doing in BC? are you hearing from him a lot?

I will post a note here today as to how to order the ribbons.

Have a Happy Easter

Connie

My son is doing fine, he says it tough but so far so good.   He was a little bummed out too about not being in the ceremony but he has to work in the back, he (R) said.   He told me he is going to Pensacola for A School but didn't say for sure what field or when he would be leaving!   R has called twice and sent me four letters.
My son is going to be coffee and cake for the Officers and big wigs in the back room as well! Our son ,B says at first he was kind of bummed but, then he realized that it would be cool! Plus he said they will be able to leave for liberty a bit earlier than the Sailors in the ceremony!! We get to see our kiddo's earlier than some of the others!!! Yipee!
Welcome to the group!  Hope all is well with you!  My boyfriend is also in 927.  Looking forward to seeing him at PIR!  He will also be going to Pensacola for A School :)
Hi everyone, I thought it would be good to come here myself and make it easier on Connie. To order ribbons for PIR send me a friend request on this site or you can send me an email to: uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com I will send you the info for placing the order. Be sure and let me know you are wanting the gold ribbons for div 927 so I get you the right price. You can see sample pics on my page or on my facebook page Unique Memory Makers. There are no pics of the Gold Ribbons yet because you will be the first group to go with that color. If you go to my facebook page and click on :"LIKE" you will be entered into a drawing for a free bundle pack of Navy Scrapbook embellishments that I also make. If you decide to order any of the scrapbook stuff just let me know. It will ship for free with your ribbon order to save you more money. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Lora
