Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have not been doing much of anything these last few days but mope and check online.  I have read everything on this site since I found it, just about 5 days ago.  Why I haven't made the search earlier, I don't know.  It would have made his leaving for BC less traumatic.  But then again, I have been in denial until we exchanged our goodbye hugs on Monday...

 

I would love to hear from others whose loved ones share the same ship/div.  Mine will go to Nuke school later on and I'm so hungry for more news and info.

I think a huge card would be good!!!  We can all sign it at meet and greet!!!

Some memory cards would be GREAT!!!  LOL  I wonder what type of camera they are using :)

Okay, so unless anyone else suggests something or volunteers to pick up a huge card, I will pick one up tomorrow afternoon.  I'm leaving for GL on Thursday morning.  

 

Stephanie, memory cards would be great but unless we know what they use... hmmmm, i wonder!

I think the card would be good they get real weird about stuff like that I tried to invite my sons recruiter to his going away party. but I had to invite all of the recruiters for no favoritism
