While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

PIR Tickets
Hi,
My husband has yet to go to basic, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit about the graduation. How many tickets will he get? How much free time do they get after. Any advice would help.

The best thing to do is wait until he goes to boot camp. You will get a form letter from the Chief in Command there and he will inform you on everything you need to know. That is also when you will get his address to be able to write him while he is there at boot.
Also, he will get 4 openings for family/friends to come to graduation, but if more want to come, they need to bring 3 government ID's to be able to possibly be admitted. If the graduation is a big one, they may not be admitted, but most the time, more can come. He will know what to do. They inform them in boot camp on what happens. After boot camp graduation, it will depend on where is A-school is on how long he will get to be with you guys. If he is going to Great Lakes IL A-school he most likely will get over nights and the weekend with you guys, but if he is being transferred to another state for A-school then he will only get about 2-4 hours with the family. You will need to ask your husband that in a letter or phone call (when he gets the privilege of calling while he is boot camp...don't expect too many phone calls. You will get one the night he gets there saying he made it and then you won't hear from him for about 3 weeks. Then after that, phone calls are random. You may only get 1 more call, or you could get as many as 3-4 more. It just depends on how well the division does and if he has gotten into trouble, etc.)

www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ check that website. They have all information!!!! For PIR (graduation) u will get only four seats and your SR is the one who decides to come to the ceremony they will have liberty time after graduation but they can't go far. The limit is fifty miles. They have to be back on base at night. Then in the morning u can get them again.... Good luck
