I have a daughter in this division-anyone else?  Looking forward to getting a phone call from her, and a real letter.  I am trying to write her everyday. Even sent a letter from her dog  :-).  Also sent her a questionnaire, hope she doesn't think its silly.  Her PIR is 5/13 and we have made our reservations for Ramada Inn and will be driving there. Since we are appox. 6 hours away.

When your Sailor is away for any holiday, Anniversary ETC and cna not be with you, burn a blue candle in their honor to let them know that although they are not there, they are there is spirit and they are not alone.
In honor of my daughter and her blue candle. I wrote this.....

I will burn my blue candle, and hold my head up high.
I will burn my blue candle, and try my best not to cry.
I will burn my blue candle, in honor of my little girl.
I will burn my blue candle, because she wasn’t afraid to take on the world.
I will burn my blue candle, in honor of all those who fight.
I will burn my blue candle, for all those who may or may not be there at dawns early light.
I will burn my blue candle, for every holiday, birthday and anniversary.
I will burn my blue candle, and pray for our Soldiers and Sailors that God has mercy.
I will burn my blue candle, until she comes home.
I will burn my blue candle, so she knows she is never alone.
I copied this off one of the moms site- read more by searching lighting blue candles. I actually ordered online a blue led candle, that way I will let it burn all night thru battle stations. I am actually taking the candle with me to work that day, and will keep it "burning" until I get the, "I am a Sailor" phone call

A lot of people burn their candles every night during bootcamp or whatever their sailor may be going thru. I actually "burn" my candle when I am on this site. I don't want to let a real candle burn all night - but have heard of people doing so. I guess some people say, put it in a pan and put in tub. I like my LED candles. They actually look like a real candle and is made out of wax. Ordered from LampLust online. Not sure if they have a lot since these ones were on clearance.

Take care only 11 days!

Got a letter today! First one in almost 2 weeks (but did get that nice long phone call last week). Sz they are real busy, they are in middle of fire fighting, gas chamber was on Tuesday. Final PTA Wednesday, Test 3 Friday. Busy studying, non-stop inspection and marching drills. Weather is nice. Said she last Friday saw grads w/families couldn't help but fantisizing about their PIR coming up. I just want to tell her, I have been doing the same, looking at pictures on FB, of PIRs, talking to people on chat. Right now on PIR she wants to have family time, away from a lot of people. Wants a BBQ in park. I think we will do better, her brother lives in Chicago, will go to his place and have a BBQ. Any parks will be busy if weather is nice. Can't wait until PIR. I am hoping we can see everyone at meet and greet
