This is the final test for your SRs.  It is a 12 hour overnight drill that tests them on all they have learned and may encounter when deployed on a ship.  It takes place on the USS Trayer, a Disney-created very realistic ship that allows them to be properly evaluated in all areas.  They start in the evening and conclude the following morning with the capping ceremony.  This is where they trade that "Recruit" cap for the "NAVY" cap, and they have now graduated and are sailors!  A very emotional time for your sailors after all of their hard work!  Later in the afternoon, you should receive that much anticipated "I'm a Sailor" phone call. These usually start around 2 pm GL(Central) time and can go for a good while. They can start earlier or later, so we recommend that you have that phone with you at all times!  This is one call you don't want to miss!  Some may not call because they had "watch" but should hopefully call the next day. Please ask your new sailor if all in the division passed and post that info for others to see in the event all don't receive the phone call.

Teamwork is the name of the game.  They are divided into smaller groups and evaluated as a team member and individually.  This is what a Chief said about BattleStations:  150-300 SRs go through a night; out of those, 3-10 may fail and have to repeat BattleStations with another division.  Teamwork is the key.  If the SRs keep their mouths shut, listen and focus, and perform well as team members, they should pass.

They go through with their brother division.  Up to 4 divisions (2 sets of brother divisions) can go a night.  Sometimes only 2 divisions go (brother divisions) or 3 divisions (set of brother divisions and an 900 or 800 division).  They usually start on Thurs night, a week before PIR, but lately...some have been starting on Wed night. There are no BattleStations on Fri or Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Sat.  This is a fun athletic competition between all of the divisions in the PIR group.  It is always held the Sat before PIR.  They can resume BattleStations on Sun-Wed nights of PIR week.  They start with the lowest-numbered divisions, and work their way up. 900 and 800 divisions go randomly, unless there happen to be two 900 divisions or two 800 divisions in the same PIR group (rare).  In that case, they go as brother divisions.

SRs have to pass ALL TESTS before they are allowed to do BattleStations.  Although some of you could get a "scripted" call from your SRs saying that "I didn't pass my PFA, don't come to graduation, I won't be there," don't panic.  They will have up until Thurs before PIR to pass the PFA...then would go through BattleStations that night with the next PIR group.  They would then be at PIR, sailors in uniform, but in the balcony-- too tired to march after having been up all night.

The brother divisions for this group are:

185+186, 187+188, 189+190, 191+192

812

929

Please ask your SRs when their division's BattleStations are and post here and on the main board.  I will then get the schedule started for this group!  HOOYAH!
