I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be San Antonio). I'm hearing thru N4M, that they're sending all corpsman to SA now. Either way- does anyone know how long we'll have with our SRs after PIR?

Besides that, I thought a discussion group of us with corpsman can share any info we get on that anyway. Come join in!

Hello, teach2! My husband doesn't have his A-school orders yet, but said there's a rumor that they might have 8 hours liberty after graduation. He's going to A-School at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. The Navy recently moved all Corpsman training over to Fort Sam Houston recently, from my understanding, but she will definitely be going to A-School in SA if she's going to be a corpsman (or corpswoman? :)). I'm not sure how that will affect our time with them, but hopefully we'll find out sooner rather than later!
My daughter will be going to San Antonio as well for Corpsman school. But haven't heard anything about liberty after PIR.
I too am wondering what our time frame will be. I was kinda hoping for some time on saturday also. I heard that all of the military branches were going to merge the medical field into one school. Maybe this is why the change of location. I guess we will find out soon.

Hey guys

I'm just trying to bump this discussion up so that more will see it. Maybe someone in the group has heard more than we know! (wink)

I haven't heard anything about A school yet except that it is in San Antonio. I sure hope we get more than just 8 hours. If anyone hears anything please keep posting.  :)
I received my last set of letters on Thursday, so hopefully I'll get more this Thursday with more info. I'll let you ladies know first! :)
My daughter was told before she left for bc, A school was in GL then it turned into SA. I haven't heard anything from her about liberty after graduation either.

Just popping us up to the top again.  I still know N O T H I N G!

When I write or have talked with my SR, I always ask the same questions about A school and liberty.  She tells me that they ask, but their RDC won't tell them anything until it gets closer to PIR.  I take it as the RDCs don't want them to be distracted by what's GOING to happen.  They want their minds on what IS happening.
Today on our phone call my SR said they probably won't know for sure until June 9....I booked my ticket for Saturday, but did it through Southwest so I can change it if need be. I might change it just for the heck of it, to Sunday...just in case.
The last letter I received my son said they were told TX then they changed it and they were told they would be staying in Great Lakes. I wonder if anyone knows for sure.  I have book for the whole weekend so I hope he stays the weekend at least.

I'm so bummed.  It is Friday.  The only letters I have received from my SR came last Friday so I was hoping that I would get something today.  Keep posting ladies, you may be my only resource for knowing what is happening.  :)
