For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Moving to Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio Texas
Hey everyone!
So my husband got his orders and we are moving to fort sam in san antonio!!! I was just looking for any other wives or mothers who live in the area who could offer some insight on apartments? We will only be there a year so we wont be able to make on base housing so we are looking for apartments. We are moving june 21st and need to find one by then! Please help!!! :)

Ft. Sam is fairly centrally located, I lived in SA for about 3 years and grew up in a town only about an hour away. So I'm familiar with the area. Alamo Heights is an old but VERY NICE area of town, just about anything in there that would be nice is going to be really expensive, but look around that area anyways there are 2 universities right next to the base so they should have some decently priced places. Another area to look at is Castle Hills, you can find nice places there as well and still not be to far from base. The worst traffic in the morning seems to be on the 1604 loop. 281 can get really congested in the evening as well. We lived in the estates of northwoods henderson pass, which weren't priced to badly, but it's a little ways north from the base. My roommate did make that drive ever morning and I think it was about a 20 min commute to the base. I think Castle Hills probably would be the best location in proximity to the base and having access to everything San Antonio offers.
When I refer to Castle Hill and Alamo Heights they are there own city inside of San Antonio, there are several like that.
I've been looking because we're looking at going to a C school in San Antonio as well so if I find anything I can pass it on to you, if you want.
