My husband is also in that ship & division. Have you started looking for a hotel or booking travel yet? We're only coming from Michigan, so I'll drive, but I haven't looked into where to stay yet!

Kathleen & Mkwatros  Quite a few of us have booked reservation at Residence Inn Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee S oak Dr, It's about 3 miles from the base. I have my room reservation and have book flight today.

Mynavyguy - Our reservation is at the Residence Inn, too!  Where will you be traveling from?

Hello,

My son is in this div and we will be driving from Maryland. We will be staying at the Days Inn for 60 a night and it's 1 mile from base.

I hope to get to meet other moms. have you gotton a call?

Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes, I received a call on Monday (5/16).  Quite a surprise and so welcomed that I cried.  Barron (my son) said that the division passed a test and the RC told them they could make a call.

Hope to meet you at PIR, or the "meet and greet" on 6/16.  How long does it take to drive from Maryland?  We are flying in from San Diego, CA.

Kathleen

Hi,

Thank you for letting me know I still have not gotten a call. And it will take us 13 1/2 hours but I don't mind. For us it's cheaper to drive then fly.I miss My son so bad. How long were you able to talk.

Chris

Hi Chris,

We talked for at least 15 mins.  My 9 year old daughter was home from school and she too, got to talk with him.  He was relaxed and not in a hurry.  I almost missed the call because I did not recognize the area code and let it go to voicemail.  When he called again in 5 minutes I decided to pick up.  Glad that I did.

How old is Sean?

Kathleen

Hi to all,

My son is in this group and we are coming from MI to see his graduation. We will be at the Ramada.

His brothers and dad are coming also.

GB

Has anyone come up with things to do Friday I am not sure what to do?

There is a big mall in Gurnee. There is a museum on base and my SR said there was a store there also

.What motel are you staying at??? They can go back there with you to relax maybe swim or play games, take the xbox along.

GB

We are waiting to see how the PIR unfolds, leaving it open to what our son wants to do.  Only 4 days, look forward to meeting everyone!!
