Carol....just checking to see if you got a letter today?  I still didn't and was really surprised.  I am about 850 miles away, but still...if it was mailed on Monday, I should have gotten it by now.  I am worried that something happened and he wasn't able to write.

Thanks.  I could call his recruiter and see if they know.  I am assuming the kids will be at the meet and greet (i hope).

Hi Angelina,  The meet and greet is at the Ramada in Waukeegan on Thurs. night- 6pm till 8pm   and , unfortunately our kids won't be there.  We won't see them till graduation. We are staying at the Ramada...hope to see you there!!    carol
Do you know what happens after the graduation?  How much time do we get to spend with them?  I've got to book a hotel room too.  Is the Ramada close to the Navy base?  Thanks for all the info!! Angie
Hello from Texas my daughter is also ship 11 division 234 just got letter yesterday she says rumor has it they may able to make calls this next week she says their division can't seem to get it together LET'S PRAY FOR THEIR TEAMWORK!!!
We are booked at the Ramada Inn in Waukegan as well. We will arrive July 21 and leave July 24. I am so excited!! I cannot wait to see our son.
ANSWER YOUR PHONES LADIES!!!!!!  I just heard from my son!!!!  The area code is 847, I almost didn't answer because I thought it was a phone solicitor!
ANSWER ANSWER that phone. I heard from my son too!!!!!
I got a call today, too!  I was at work....saw the 847 on my cell....so glad I had seen that on here, or I never would have answered.  He sounded so good!  So much better than I could have hoped for.  He said it is tough, but he is doing well.  I told him I had heard through this board that his division was having a tough time working together as a team.  He agreed, but said he had been trying to help others with things they may be struggling with, and that everyone was trying really hard.  He said he had a really good friend whose mom also is on this board in our group.  I don't know who you are, but one of you has a son that is one of my son's closest friends there! :-)  He said the food was amazing...like he couldn't believe it was really that good.  We just had an awesome conversation, and I can make it through the weekend with a smile on my face!

Is your son named Mike? My sons said his good friends mom was on here too.  I am almost sure he said the name Mike.

I know I shouldn't but I was really expecting a call today, now I am sad because we didn't get one. I am such an inpatient Mom :( My only saving grace is that he is probably writing me a letter today and will mail it tomorrow.

33 days til PIR! They are beginning their 3rd or 4th week now? I am unsure, I think they started BC on June 1, that was after they finished their processing? Am I correct in my count? Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,

Kathleen

I am wondering about that, too, Kathleen.  I am confused as to the count.  I have just assumed that they started on Monday, May 30, thinking that would give them 8 full weeks of BC.  But that is not something I asked on the phone, though I have sent it in a questionnaire.  I also didn't think to ask about all this flag and award stuff.  Really didn't realize how big of a deal it was until all the posting this past weekend.  I wonder what, if any, they have managed to earn.

Anyway....getting ready to head to work.  Hope all of you ladies have a great day.  Remember, there are more letters going in the mail today.  My son told me he was sending my first questionnaire back this week, so I'll have some answers to some of the questions I still have!  Have a blessed day, everyone!
