My boyfriend is Ship 02 DIV 934. I have found several people through this group and the Facebook RTC with the 7/8 PIR group, but not so many 934. Hopefully, this small discussion board will help connect some of us! :) It makes me feel so much better to chat with people who actually have loved ones doing the exact same thing! :)

Our mail hasn't come yet.  We think our regular carrier is on vacation as we haven't been getting our mail until very late in the afternoon.  Who gave the mail carrier permission to go on vacation?  I want my letter from my son! That's more important.

I'm not sure of the dates, but our son said to keep the cell phones at the ready from June 30-July 1 for the phone call.  I would guess it was right before that

My daughter Kristin, said in her letter yesterday that they had been on the ship and she really liked it. I don't know how much they have actually done but she was very impressed. They have been doing their firing range and gun works and all sounds like it is going well. There is one more thing if they do good at in the next couple of days, they will earn a phone call. I CAN'T WAIT. IF any of you hear anything else please let us know.

My daughter called yesterday -- they were actually having some fun!  Because their Battlestations will be later than usual, their RDC let them go to the NEX and buy goodies (which he doesn't usually do until after Battlestations).  She said they all stuffed themselves and then when they got back to the compartment their RDC made them do IT (although it seemed to be all in fun).  She is so excited about Battlestations coming up and PIR and moving on to A school.  It was wonderful to hear her so upbeat!
Arrrrrgh--just found this discussion. (haven't been a member on this website but a few days). My son is in 934. We are leaving Thursday for a long drive, getting to our hotel near Great Lakes in the early evening. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for our division as they begin BS 21 in a few hours (if they haven't already!). They will all do well! Can't wait to see my son on Friday!!
Has anyone heard how our division did last night at BS 21? Anyone received a phone call yet?
No, nothing yet.  Last time I heard from my daughter, she said to expect the call about mid-afternoon.  Of course, I don't know whether that means mid-afternoon Central time or mid-afternoon Pacific time.  LOL  As soon as I hear something, I'll post here and you do the same, OK?

Absolutely! When I do type that he has called, all the words will probably be misspelled due to uncontrolled emotions! (and, Murphy's Law, the first number we told him to call--my cell--just started going funky and I cannot receive calls on it!--I know he'll then try his dad's cell and our home phone, but, still, a little frustrating!)

Go, 934!

I have a Sailor! Just got the call about 10 minutes ago. It was a short, but, oh, so sweet conversation! Yoo-yah!
I got mine, too!  We talked for longer than that, but my poor daughter is so tired she became very emotional.  By the end of the conversation, she had pulled herself together and realized that she'd made it through and was all but finished.  Can't wait to see her on Friday!
I got my call too.  He is tired, but what else is new?
