For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I Do, I Do! Currently I have a Sailor in Goose Creek SC, in phase 2 of his schooling. my nephew is the SR (also named Kevin) in this Division. I have been looking for anyone is this division and didnt find one, so I posted a discussion last night, but will delete it now.
still no phone calls or letters, my sister did receive the box and form letter.

This has been hard. We only want to hear that they are doing well and that they are happy.
That's "funny" our SR's are both Kevin. :) Is his mom on N4M's?

I wont say I have connections :), but I do have experience and knowledge, my Son PIR'ed on 12/17/10 and was able to come home with us for the Holidays and then had to report to base in S Carolina on 12/28, Stephens A School is a year and half long - total of 3 phases, and he is half way thru phase two ~ It is great as you can communicate with them via email, texting, phone and Skype and Facebook . As of now, No news is good news from RTC as hard as it is not hearing from them just know that he is doing well, Im sure when u speak to him he will tell you that P-days were horrible and I was really questioning my decision, this is totally normal for everyone and once they get thru that, and the division starts to come together it keeps getting better, learning how to shave and fold a shirt, make your bed will be tedious but when they get to the firing range, marlins spike, preparing for captians cups and battle stations - that when the fun for them start
My sister is not on N4M, as of now, but I keep her updated. sent her an email last night as a friendly reminder when you leave your house this weekend start to transfer your house phone to your cell phone, believe me you dont want to miss that call - it happened to me once and I felt terrible, He ending up calling a friend of his instead, they had a great half hour long conversation and I could hear the happiness in his friends voice that it made me feel better and that maybe it was meant to be!

I'm from TX. Where are you & your sister from? Oh, hey, my son goes on to A School in Pensacola. He is aiming for the AIRR program. Your sons progress sounds wonderful! I know my Kevin has a long road if training ahead of him, too. -

I live on Long Island, NY and my sister lives in Naples, Fl, last time I was in Texas was atleast 30 years ago. But I do remember it, and really enjoyed the vacations we would take as a family. BC phone calls typically last 30 minutes, except the all important "Im a Sailor call" that will last an hour, this may sound silly but start to write a list of questions you may have for him, believe me when you hang up, you'll be "Oh Man, I forgot to ask him" - S had to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled and I forgot to ask him how it went - boy I was not happy with myself on that one. I would also have a pen and paper handy while we spoke to jot certain things down, Most of the time, Dad was not home and then my hubby would grill me with 1001 questions, and I would just stare at him, laughing cause I couldnt remember anything we talked about, I was just so happy to hear his vocie that that was all I truley focused on (beleive me you are not alone with your feelings, this emotional roller coaster is something else) Oh yeah - the area code that his call will come in from is 847 - run, jump, kick the dog, knock anything and anyone out of the way to get to that phone lol... just kidding about the dog!
Pensacola is a nice base, they actually have a beach there that the Sailors can go to, Alot of the Recuits will head to Florida after Bootcamp - it is where all the air crew go. AIRR - is that Rescue Swimmer rate?

Gosh, I can't believe how much I keep learning here! I received my first letter today!! :))) I see it takes quite some time to arrive here. He wrote on Saturday night & it was postmarked Mondays day, received it today, Friday.

Welcome CookieB - I see that you joined a Nuke group, My Son is currently in Power School (phase2), at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) in Goose Creek, S. Carolina.
Balsuz - Sooo Glad you got a letter! - lucky you, I sent my sister an email and told her to Run, dont walk to the mail box - We talked last night and she sounded really good, so that made me happy.
eventually we should private message each other with our Recruits last names, as the boys will only know each other by that, it also helps them get to know each other, if they dont already ~ when they know that we are communicating with each other here
