My son is in Ship 07 Div 272. I received his box and form letter on 7/5. I wanted to make a group so I could be in contact with moms of other recruits in his division so we could share updates. I have made our reservationns for PIR for the hotel (Residence Inn), we are still trying to figure out if we should take the train or fly to GL. We will also be attending the meet and greet on aug.25. I look forward to keeping in touch and meeting everyone!

Yes ma'am...I'm a nurse too! Last tuesday an employee walked into my office as the question posted...

lol..thats when you look up and tell them "ill be with you in a moment"!

Exactly. We are in Texas today, and it kills me to think I have a letter in my mailbox at home!

we were at the 1000 islands in canada at our cabin, good thing i wrote him the phone number on numerous letters!. we received his call on saturday! best day!!!! it was reassuring to hear his voice and he was excited to tell us about what he has been doing.. i knew we would have a letter in the mail, couldn't wait to get back home.

Hey you.ve been so awesome to me & I see your a nurse, I was in the 2 yr program, but due to getting cancer I never finished.... Anyways I'm super worried about britty, we got her 1 st letter in my parents it said she went to medical for a thing that had swelled on her leg she told dad in her letter they thought it was a bit put her on antibiotics, but in grandparent went on to say, & the next day went to the real hospital off base cause there's was closed, the dr cut it open puss came out & they packed it with gauze she than missed first mail call cause she was at medical & missed first swim too.... my first thought it clogged sweat duct, but she said they thought a bit.... What do you think? & at what point after going to medical, & real hospital.... why didn't they call or when would they call us?
It sounds like a staph infection. I dontknow why they didn't call, other than the Navy doesn't see her PIR being delayed. I can only imagine the stress that you are under, but don't worry about this ( or try not to worry ).
its not uncommon for a bug bite to get infected/cellulitis. but pus and abscess sounds like it could be infection/mrsa. you can get foliculitis from shaving as well, it could be a number of things, without seeing it its hard to tell. im sure its nothing major , its just one of mom's jobs to worry though.
