While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Are there certain jobs that are Grad N Go?
I am wondering about the GradNGo.. does it matter where they are going to A school or specific jobs that a recruit has that they would be gradngo, or is it just random? How soon do you find out that your recruit is a gradngo... this would definitely change our plans.. we will still go, no matter what, we might not bring our other 5 kids with us tho, b/c of the expense.

It seems to be random as far as the jobs/A schools. Usually the first 2 divisions in a PIR group are G&G but not always and usually the entire division is G&G but not always. 800 and 900 divisions can be G&G as well.
Usually the rcts find out a few weeks before PIR.

My son is in DIV 271. He will be going onto Pensacola for A school for AIRR. His recruiter had told him before he left he will be a grad & go. ??? Not sure if this helps.

Grad-n-go is not used any more; it's now Friday and Saturday Departures (or day of PIR and day after if they have PIR on a different day due to holidays). Sailors staying in GL for A School move across the street the day of PIR and families can then have time with them after they check in, which can take 4-5 hours from what I've heard, and then have Liberty until evening and can also have Liberty each day of the weekend. Sailors going to other A Schools will have Liberty on the day of PIR until evening when they must return to the RTC. They will fly out the next day, but family members can meet them at the airport--the Sailor will know the time--and spend time with them at the airport until flight time and also give them their cell phone, laptop, etc. in a black backpack.
