First time sailor MOM....my baby leaves tomorrow from the Meps in OK city she was going to ORU when she signed up. I need to know the address to the navy boot camp place so that she can get letters from me so she won't feel alone....( ok me )lol...
Her 22nd birthday is on Wed. we had a small dinner for her and her sister cut her hair for her so that she wouldn't be freaked when they cut her hair.
My baby's name is Caryn she's my middle child first to graduate college in the family. She's strong, smart, determined, compassionate, adventureous...Im not sure how she's going to handle being on the 7 seas though...:-)lol.
She qualified to be Master @ Arms, A school will be in San Antoinio TX. All that know how to pray I ask your prayers so that angels stay watch 4 her and all the sailors. I've learned and learning to put all my children in the Lord's hands...
Excited to see her in her uniform can't wait!!!!

Thanks Bernadette...my name is Pam, this year has been interesting Caryn and my only son , also my youngest child both graduated 3 wks apart he graduated from high school. Learning to adjust to being a newby empty nestter @ the same time plus a Navy MoM! My babies do keep me going. :-) Thanks for letting me know what to send her, she did call for a few seconds after she got to boot camp. She said that she would write next Sunday then try to call again in 3 wks.
It was a long day @ the meps building we stayed with her the whole time watched her and group get sworn in she was the only female and just before we left they chose her to be the leader of the group which I thought was cool. I was joking when I called her Master Chief, then another navy mom told me that her son made second sailor within 6 mos. She told me that's how it starts....The most I miss about Caryn is our intellectual conversations even when she was small I had deep talk with her...no kiddie chatter for this one..LOL
You'll have to wait to get her ship and division number but the address should be something like this
SR LASTNAME, FIRST NAME, MI
SHIP ? DIV ?
RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND
2420 SAILOR DRIVE
GREAT LAKES, IL 60088
Good luck to you and your SR-seaman recruit
