While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Ladys I could be wrong but they might save all the ones that fail till the end after the last division and re-test all at the same time! I don't know that for sure but that would be most fair!!
But life is not fair ether and this test is to test if they could make a life or death challenge !!
I think they are ready for this when they get there they are trained well for this test!!

Alie-that does make sense. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am just so nervous about everything turning out o.k. I really thought and he thought he was going to have no trouble at bc...he trained so hard, was in great shape and lost about 20-30 pounds before he left (in my opinion really didn't need to lose any, but he was determined to get in the best shape he could before he left--would eat nothing but chicken and fish for several months and had a specific workout schedule that he followed every day), but I think he is having more trouble than he thought he would. He is extremely competitive and I think it really is making him frustrated, but I am trying to stay positive. Will just be glad when it's all over...

Yes us moms never stop worrying even after they have gone and gotten Married I sure !! My oldest is in the navy 2 years and I am all up set with him cause I haven't been able to get a hold of him since last Friday!! his phone go's right to this person has not set up there voice mail and is unavailable .
I have know idea if his ship is out doing some maneuvers or what :/
Oh well so one did tell me they saw him on the ship yesterday so i know he is ok!
anyway we will be better after Boot Camp is over!! Hope we will meet at the meet and greet in 14 days!!
P.S. My Daughter is in your son's sister division!

From my son's letter on 8/2 (took 8 days to get here when the rest have taken three or four!):
* something about Haws Pike (or something like that, I can't read it too well) "it was bad ass. they put our div on a fake ship and we had to park it, moor it to the pier and take off. it was so fun and a great change of pace"
*got his debit card
* he bought me, hubby and his sis t-shirts with the div logo on them
Letter dated 8/7:
*was a really fun week
*he's "positive" he got a ribbon for his shooting skills (they shot a 9 mm pistol and 12 guage shot gun)
* had first PFA (he did 71 push ups in 2 min, 62 sit ups in 2 min, ran the mile and half in 12 min 20 sec = passed
*got a 5.0 on PI (personal inspection) and WTI (weapons turn over inspection)
*279 earned 2 flags last week! (their only two so far)
He goes on to talk about how they seem to be doing well as a division. He said he is very excited to see us and to have his PIR and celebrate his accomplishment :)
He has not yet included a BS date, but apparantly another mom has been given the date. I was hoping he would too, just to confirm it in my mind... Jana, I worry A LOT too!

Hello lady sorry i have not been on this page it just been trying to get all the thing together for the trip down to great lakes. i am staying on the NAVY BASE EAST SIDE. I will be flying out of SAN ANTONIO TEXAS, on thursday 08/25 at 6:10 A.M. first fight out. I am going to the meet an greet but need the information of where it is an what time? I saw it on the pg but did not write it down Please ladies if you have it send it to me Please. I have gotten many letter but this week I have not gotten ANYTHING. I know my daughter shared with me that next thursday she will have a test and PFA on friday. She also said they were going to be very busy this week and I told her in a letter to not worry about writing me. I will just keep writing you. I have not gotten ANY PHONE CALL AT ALL since the last call on july 26. My SR was sharing that she miss me very much and is second guessing her self since she has been unalble to call home. I told her not worry about that. I told her you are in the HOME STRETCH MIJA. but i guess it just hard when you are so use to talking to them anytime all the time. Ladies your SR are leaving right way after GRADUATE!! and where is there A School at? I hope i get to meet all at the meet an greet on thursday.

What hotel are you staying in? At this point, I am planning on driving. We will be leaving on Tuesday, Aug. 22 and am planning on just taking it slowly and taking our time getting there--making a mini vacation out of it. The Meet and Greet is at the Ramada Inn Waukegan (That is where Stacey and I are staying). I believe it is from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Hope to see you there. I got a letter Saturday, but nothing since then. I'm hoping for one either tomorrow or Friday. Thanks for the information on Battlestations and other things--girls are so much more forthcoming on information than boys are--at least mine, anyway--that is the only call that I have gotten also. I am starting to get very nervous for him wanting him to pass everything so he can graduate. I am praying for the whole division, not just him. Unfortunately we will be on the road when they run Battlestations so I may need to exchange phone numbers so someone can call me when they start getting phone calls. My son is going to A school in San Antonio and I think that's where Stacey's is going too. Well take care and I'm hoping I'll have some information to share in a day or two.

Hi I am stay at the NAVY GATEWAY on base. My family will be diving up to the GREAT LAKES. On Tuesday 08/23 and they too will be like you waiting to hear The same NEWS!! of IM a SAILOR.

I will be keeping close contact with my family of any NEWS I get for my SR . However I am going to give you my CELL # but will send it to you in pravite e-mail. This way you can pass it to Stacey as well. That way if you need to talk I am here I will not be leaving until thursday!! Aug 25 So hope the calls doesn't come when I am at work because I will be SO UPSET WITH MY SELF if i miss the call. I do plan to go to the Meet and Greet I would love to meet Stacey and you. I live in SAN ANTONIO so if your SR is coming here then we can meet up again whenever you come down to visit him. I am only 10mins from the base and my sister works on base as well. so anything you think you may need let me know. I am here to help if you need anything. ? your SR names Holmes ?

I am leaving Wednesday and driving to St Louis and then taking the Train to Chicago and then GL And we are staying at the Ramada to and My Daughter is going to San Antonio Too !! how funny is that I am in your sister group so we are doing BS the same day!

GOD IS WORKING IN YOUR CHILDREN AND IN US AS WELL. LOOK our kidos are going throught BC together and we are dealing with the separation of your child being way from home. God had all of this figuer out way before we evern knew each other WHAT A GREAT GOD I SERVER HE IS ALWAYS LOOKING OUT FOR MY BEST INTEREST. Yes, his last name is Holmes. When I got the phone call a couple of weeks ago he said there are 4 Holmes there 2 boys and 2 girls. His first name is Anthony. Thanks for sending the phone number.

Yes my Daughter said she knew your son but their where 2 Holmes and she did not know which one I was asking about but she does know them both. Now that i have your sons first Name I will be letting her know. an yes you are welcome. No problem my phone goes everywhere with me. I even got my house phone forward to my cell because i do not want to MSS the CALL. Did you get a letter? I did not get one but my daughter did from her SISTER.
